Sure try it, I had some on a crack in a Dishwasher tub bottom for 2 years before the rest of the dishwasher gave out. It was on a hole about the size of a pea.

Is this non-toxic? or food safe?

Definitely not. I'd use 100% silicone for repairs where food safety is a requirement.

I need to seal a steel carburetor crack do resist gas ?

I would use J. B. Weld for that.
