Moleskine Rechargeable Booklight, Cerulean Blue

I bought this for my wife to use with her sudoku puzzle books. It provides ample light for her to work by. I've used it a few times myself and think a little more light might be nice, but it's enough. She usually uses it in the family room, so when it dies our HTPC is right there with a USB port for recharging, which is really slick. So much better than burning through alkaline batteries.The flexible body is nice for adjusting the light direction. It's not super stiff, so it can tend to relax a bit after you first position it, but not to the point of being annoying. It seems like it gets re-positioned a few times during each use.No serious complaints so far. She's been using it for about 6 weeks now and it gets charged about once or twice per week. So far we are quite happy with this purchase.

Wanted one for me in orange, one for him in blue, loved the rechargeable idea, no batteries to replace sounded great. However. First blue one was DOA, wouldn't light up or charge. Second blue one, button was all wonky; would charge but the button wouldn't click in and out. I gave up on the blue color and ordered another orange one. First orange one lit up great right out of the package but doesn't seem to be charging now, since I now know the second blue one had a (very bright) blue charging indicator light. Fingers crossed that the new orange one works when it gets here but have a feeling that one is going back too. For this price I really expected an impressive light, but alas, I should have stuck with the cheapies because those are the ones that are still actually working.

This is one of the worst products on Amazon and I am appalled that they continue to sell it. I read most of the reviews, but bought it anyway thinking the worst reviews were from 2012/2013 so surely by now Moleskin must have fixed the bugs. I was woefully wrong. The product performed just as poorly as everyone stated and I can't believe Amazon continues to sell such a shoddy product. Worse yet, that Moleskin continues to lend their name to this thing. The design is fantastic, but it must be FUNCTIONAL. I had the same problem - it would only turn on when connected to a power source. The battery never charged.

It does not work. You can only use it if you keep it connected to a power source. Once you disconnect it from your laptop or plug in it will not turn on. I should have read reviews BEFORE I bought this because now reading reviews I see others saying you can't turn it off. You just have to let the battery run down.I am going to try and get my money back from Amazon. Good idea but shoddy product.

I ordered this for a Christmas present to go along with some books. It didn't work from day one. It wouldn't hold a charge and the only time it turned on was when it was plugged in, which defeats the purpose of a booklight.Their customer service took weeks to get a hold of and when they finally replied did absolutely nothing to right the situation since I purchased through Amazon.Overall horrible experience and I would strongly recommend buying something else.

DOA. Like many others mentioned, the light showed up not being able to hold a charge. I had it plugged in for several hours. The blue light never turned on (indicating it was charging) and the white LEDs would only light while plugged in. I should have listened to the others, but I thought I would luck out and get one that worked. Aesthetically and functionally, it is exactly what I would want (thin, lightweight) IF it worked.

Like so many others that have left a review for this product, I too am disappointed.The light can be turned on and off while plugged into a power source. However, once power is removed the light will not turn on.The blue "charging" light is lit while plugged into a power source, so it appears to be charging, however it isn't.Amazon should remove this product until these issues are corrected.

I was very excited about the features of this product, but once I got it and turned it on, it would NOT turn off. I tried a few times to see if I can make it work (i.e. let the battery die and recharge, etc), but alas...to no avail. Very disappointing as I had wanted a product like this. Ended up returning the product to Amazon for a refund.

This was bought as a xmas present. was a great success and the people that received it were very happy.

Tras comprar tres lámparas de estas el resultado ha sido que dos de ellas llegaron en perfecto estado, pero la tercera no funcionaba correctamente (lo que ya les pasaba a otros, se quedaba siempre encendida y el interruptor no la apagaba). Cuando reclamé enseguida me enviaron otra sin coste alguno y sin retirar la previa (eficiencia asombrosa), pero la mala suerte hizo que tampoco funcionara (esta vez el interruptor sí funcionaba, pero no cargaba bien, tenía que estar enchufada en el USB para funcionar). Como volví a reclamar, la empresa optó por la devolución del dinero (lo entiendo porque no va a estar enviando lámparas hasta dar con una que funcione...). La eficiencia y el buen servicio de la empresa ha sido ejemplar, una pena que la lámpara no esté a la altura...

Allora, i casi sono due, o sono particolarmente sfigato o la qualità che si cela dietro un Brand conosciuto come Moleskin è da tutelare meglio. Due lampade su due sono risultate non funzionanti. Credo ci sia da aggiungere poco altro. Un plauso come sempre as Amazon che ha provveduto alla sostituzione ed al rimborso in maniera ineccepibile.

Hier auf Amazon.de hat diese Leseleuchte von Moleskine ziemlich gute Bewertungen. Das und die Tatsache, dass die Leuchte per USB aufladbar ist, haben mich zu der Entscheidung gebracht, diese Leuchte zum Lesen von Büchern zu kaufen. Die Ernüchterung kam schnell, denn zwar sieht die Lampe ganz nett aus, ist leicht und lässt sich per USB auch recht gut aufladen, jedoch ging das Problem schon mit dem ersten Einschalten los:Diese Lampe hat einen wirklich schlechten An- und Aus-Schalter! Man merkt es schon beim Draufklicken hinten, dass irgendetwas nicht stimmt. Einmal an, war diese Lampe einfach nicht auszubekommen. Erst dachte ich, ich mache vielleicht etwas falsch, aber daran liegt es nicht. Man schaue sich auch mal die Rezensionen auf Amazon.com zu diesem Produkt an. Dort vergeben fast alle Käufer nur einen Stern eben genau wegen dieses Problems.Ich schicke die Lampe nun sofort zurück, denn mit einem Produkt, dass sich nicht ausschalten lässt und somit ständig nachgeladen werden müsste und zudem echt stört, wenn es so hell leuchtet, kann ich wirklich nichts anfangen.Auch ansonsten wirkt die Lampe vom Design zwar ganz nett, macht aber keinen sonderlich stabilen Eindruck. Sie lässt sich auch nicht unbedingt in die perfekte Position biegen und man bekommt schon bei den ersten Versuchen den Eindruck, dass das einfach nicht lange halten kann.Ich kann hier wirklich nur vom Kauf abraten. Von Moleskine würde man eigentlich Qualität erwarten - die bekommt man hier defintiv nicht und meine Lampe ist da leider keine Ausnahme, sondern es scheint eher eine seltene Ausnahme zu sein, wenn die Lampe mal funktioniert.

Ich verwende diese Leseleuchte für Bücher und finde sie wirklich toll. Das Licht ist ein starker und breiter Kegel, und wenn die Batterie leer ist, steckt man die Leuchte einfach an die USB-Ausgangsbuchse des Computers an. (Mit LED-Ladeanzeige.) Weich und biegsam ist sie auch.
