Gorgeous lamp
I love the satin gold finish. It is has a sheen to it but it's not overly shiny. It reminds me of the gold lamps in old libraries. I love it.At first I was a bit concerned that the bulb included in the package would give off a light that was too white. I typically like warmer color lighting. But after turning it on, with the lamp shade attached, it seemed to warm up.The light reflecting off the gold surface definitely adds to the warmth.I'm currently using this on my end table but could see this used in the living room as well.The base is heavy, and sturdy. It feels like a quality piece.The on/off switch is attached to the electric cord, not unlike other lamps. But it seems to be a bit far from the base of the lamp. I guess this could work in your favor or against it depending on where you situate this lamp. If you have one of those light switches that controls specific power outlets, you could theoretically keep the switch in the "on" position, and just use the wall switch to control it.It's a bit pricey, but it's design forward, and feels well made. Nice Atollo dupe at about 1/5 of the price.I'd definitely recommend it, if you're looking for something a bit elevated.
