L'Oreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara, Black

I used to buy Dior in the past but it became more and more difficult to buy bright colours as they were not their regular lines but 'special editions'. For the last few years I only buy these - they are really fantastic and cheap. I have a selection of colours - turquoise, green, purple - also black etc - all are really good - so more choice and money saved, can't lose (and now my teenage daughter loves them too!)

First application out of the tube is amazing. It takes a little longer to dry than black mascara. The colour is very bright. Photo is taken in natural sunlight and no filters attached. Only applied one coat of colour, my eyelashes are dark brown in colour.The applicator makes the eyelash’s clump together so you get a more spiked look (it’s in the product details) but I just took a spooly and seperated them out.

This is a really thickening, lengthening mascara, wears well without dropping bits on your cheek and has the added bonus of being a very nice subtle, but definitely there purple smokiness to the lashes. Don't expect bright purple, expect smoky, darkness and you will love this product. The Manga mascaras are the best I have ever used and I am a makeup nerd! Put on several thinner coats and use a clean old mascara wand to separate the lashes if needed. Recommend.

I normally use Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara, but was finding the brush too large - I was always getting splodges on my top eyelid... so I looked for something new.I find this L'Oreal mascara just as good as the Max Factor, but as the brush is smaller - it tapers from larger at the handle end, to smaller at the other end - I don't get mascara on my top eyelid (well, not so much anyway!). It's also easier to get the smaller eyelashes in the inner eye, due to that smaller tapered brush.It creates lots of volume (hence the name), but I do find if I use too much it does end up clumping.... so be warned, or just comb through to separate your lashes.I remove it easily with a bi-phase eye make-up remover. No scrubbing needed.

Absolutely love this mascara - gorgeous colour green and have received so many comments when I wear it. Definitely gives volume. Great value for money - would definitely buy again in green and also, from now on, get the black or brown.

Not a big fan and wouldn't buy this particular mascara again (in any colour). It's not the worst mascara I have ever used and certainly in terms of smudge proof and thickening it does the job, however, I found this very clumpy. The first coat went on nicely but doesn't really add any volume by itself but then the second coat seemed to fight with the first coat, resulting in an overall clumpy effect. I think a good smudge proof mascara is hard to find, however, and this one definitely wins points for not smudging for a 12 hour day.The purple colour is not bright at all and mostly looked just like any other dark mascara. People commented they could see the purple but this was only in sunlight and probably only because I asked if they could tell. The wand also has this bendy bit - totally pointless in my opinion and adds nothing to the application. There is also a noticeable smell - not sure if this is just because it was a different colour or if it is supposed to be scented, though having said that it's not offensive at all and doesn't linger, just definitely noticeable.

I love the shade it’s stunning! Always on the look out for a funky mascara - if you are looking for an epic green then this one is for you!
