Very easy to install and works perfectly! I used a USB boot drive to install the OS.
The drive fit perfectly into my 2017 MacBook Pro. Only suggestion that I would give has less to do with the drive then it does with Apple software. The drive does not come with a recovery partition like the OEM but that makes sense when they don’t know what exact system this will be installed in. I would recommend either using a TimeMachine backup or using a USB boot device with the installer on it for the OS you want to install. This makes getting you system up and running a lot easier but the drive itself worked like a charm! As a note, I was not offered a promotion for my review. I was just very happy with the new drive and wanted to let others know. I could not get the OS to install using the Option+Command+R for Recovery so I also wanted others doing this themselves to know about using the USB boot method.

Good replacement for Apple original drive
I had this drive for couple of weeks now and it works perfectly and as described in the listing. The drive comes with youtube video of installation and I recommend also checking the vendor website for pdf with backup and restore instructions. I used timemachine to backup to external USB drive, replaced the original drive and then restored from USB to the new. I got OS installed and all my data restored to the new drive with no loss of any of my files.

Easy Button to Adding Capacity to your 2017 MackBook Pro (non-Touch)
You could go to eBay to buy a drive pillaged from another MacBook Pro but why waste the cycles when this package comes with everything you need to replace the drive. The package includes the tools, clear instructions and the course the SSD drive. My only grip is that this drive is 480GB vs the Apple OEM 499GB of capacity but that's a small sacrifice for a brand new item that will surely breath new life into my laptop that came with only 128GB storage capacity.Great product and the OWC team knows how to make things easy for DIY'ers or even people new to opening a hermetically sealed laptop like the MBP!

Good replacement SSD for 2016 MacBook Pro
My school received a donated MacBook Pro 2016. The SSD was removed from it. This drive was a good replacement. The only downside was that it can’t update the OS to Monterey because Apple’s update requires an Apple branded drive in order to do a firmware update to allow Monterey to install. Other than that this drive has worked well. It seems fast, and so far no problems

Perfect fit
The fussy, weird MacBook SSD form factor is so annoying, but OWC comes through with a high quality replacement that has a perfect fit. The included tools are extremely convenient.

Works Great. Careful With The Screwdrivers.
The SSD works great. My only advice is to have your own screwdriver set. The screwdrivers that were supplied were slipping which would've stripped a screw if I kept trying to use them. The screws should come out very easily when the screwdriver fits correctly. Don't force it if it's slipping. Use one that fits better.
