The Therm-a-Rest Trail Lite Self-Inflating Foam Camping Pad offers an outstanding combination of comfort, compactness, warmth and value making it a great all-around camping mattress. Die-cut foam reduces weight and bulk while self-inflation adds convenience appreciated by all at the end of the day, but doesn't sacrifice warmth with an R-Value of 3.2 (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). The 1.5-inch thick pad will expand on its own with an open valve; top it off with a few breaths. The semi-rectangular shape increases sleep area and makes for better, gap-free mating with other rectangular air mattresses. Like all Therm-a-Rest pads, the Trail Lite is made to ensure quality and minimize environmental impact. The Trail Lite includes a stuff sack to protect the pad when it's packed down. Available in two styles: Equipped with the Standard Valve, or equipped with the WingLock Valve which is able to inflate a pad three times faster than a standard valve thanks to a larger barrel and optional one-way inflation. Made in the USA. Manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.

Very comfortable, Warm
I like how this worked for me. The reflective factor really worked well for my backpacking trip to the desert. It was 25-40 degrees most nights. Car camping and tent camping. This is way warmer than my typical Klymit Static V, or Car Air mattress. I will say, it deflated a little during the night and I would end up with my hip and shoulder touching the ground through the mattress. I am a side sleeper, I didn't notice this issue when I slept on my back. However 3-4 breaths was enough to pump it back up in the middle of the night

Packs away HUGE. Not ideal for backpacking.
Its definitely a different feel than my Klymit Static V and ThermaRest Neo Air. It's a foam pad rather than totally air filled, obviously. But it is comfortable. The R value is much higher than the Klymit and a little lower than the NeoAir. It packs away HUGE. I can't take this on backpacking trips because of the space it wastes compared to many other mats. Definitely good for a night of car camping at a local campground. Although some may prefer a little more bulk to their mat. I wouldn't recommend for long distance hikers like myself. It was worth a try. I had always been curious of pads like these. Nice product though.

Buyer beware
Do not buy from this retailer. Buy directly from thermarest. We were sent a defective mattress from outdoor gear exchange, but unfortunately when my husband finally got to use the mattress and realized it was defective we were out of the return window. No problem outdoor gear exchange said, just get a hold of thermarest directly and they will take care of it. Well 2 months and 36 dollars later, they fixed it. I was told by thermarest that it could have been how the mattress was stored and it was an old mattress. I was advised not to go through a third party to buy thermarest. I am extremely frustrated at the lack of accountability by this company.

This thing is comfy!
I bought this to replace a lighter folding/non-inflatable camping pad from the same manufacturer. This thing inflates easily (once you read the instructions; the valve did not work like I expected) and is super comfortable compared to my non-inflatable pad. If you're willing to carry the extra weight, this thing is great.

Easy to use.
This thermarest is easy to inflate and easy enough to deflate and roll up again. There are thicker products out there but this one should be thick enough for most people.

Great for the size
A couple extra breaths and these are the right thickness.

Good buy
Love the size and comfort. It is lightweight and doesn’t take up much room in the pack.

Great sleeping pad
Does not “self inflate” like I expected, but in about 10 breaths it’s completely inflated. Holds air well and kept me warm and comfortable on some cold nights. It fit inside my mummy bag so I never fell off. Docking one star for not self inflating.

Very Comfortable and Warm but, big!
I got this to update my wild camping kit for a more comfortable experience. I previously had a fully inflatable 'Big Agnes' (not great at insulating but, packs real small). Thermarest are reliable mats (unlike Vango copies) but, this bad boy packs HUGE. I have rolled it as tight as I can, without damaging it but, it still warrants the hiring of a Sherpa! It is very comfortable and notably warm but, sadly it has been demoted to my family camping gear (as cannot justify a new rucksack just for my mat - Where would it end?!) and I'm back to Big Agnes for now.

It's a quality product but...
it's too narrow - if what you're looking for is something very small and light to carry then its good enough but bear in mind that its very narrow and i am a slim person so just consider that in the decision making process

Broke within months
I only bought this in Feb and after only a few uses it is broken by July. The wing nut valve also makes it very much more difficult to inflate.I have used Thermarests many times for years but they no longer last the way they used to.

Great mat
Great mat. Very comfortable to sleep on. Brings sleeping during the hike to another level after my previous experience with a foam mat. No cons found.
