Extremely pleased!
I'm not normally one to leave reviews. But being that I am hoping to publish my own work someday, I thought it only right to give praise where praise is due! When it comes to choosing books I am always extremely picky about what I read. Sometimes the characters names alone will keep me from reading a book. It's so hard to find good, well written, lesbian books. So when a friend referred me to Radclyff's Honor Series, the characters and setting were more than enough to draw me in. I read the first book in the series in a day and went right back for more. In the past three weeks I have quickly devoured all seven books in the Honor Series and I'm going back for round two! I could go on about the plot and everything the book is about, but that would be pointless because you can read the synopsis for yourself without me rewriting it! What I *can* do is tell you what grabs me where books and writing are concerned. It's always important to me to be able to have a clear image in my head of what the characters look like. And I like to be able to get a good idea of their surrounding, so that I read it as if I'm watching a movie play out in front of me. I hope that makes sense to *some*one. This book did that for me and more! I found myself right there in the middle of the action. In the middle of the excitement. The angry moments. The tender moments. The sexual frustration between Blair and Cam was enough to keep my heart beating fast and breathing out of control! At any given time, I was right there experiencing every thought, every touch, every emotion. Maybe this comes from the fact that I am a highly sensitive person. I am constantly aware of the emotions and feelings of the people and world around me and they affect me exactly as if I am the one experiencing it. So...if you're like me, this series is going to rock your world! You're going to be frustrated, happy, angry, scared, turned on at all times and trust me when I say you'll find yourself unable to sit still because of it!Radclyff is a great writer as far as I am concerned!! It's worth it to see for yourself! And if you're not sure, just read the free preview of the book!! I found myself wishing that someone will come along and make a movie or a damn tv show out of this series!! It's that good! You could easily get seven seasons out of seven books! I think the world NEEDS a good tv series with strong leading women who just happen to be lesbians! In this day and age, there's no excuse not to give a try. This would be a heck of a place to start! I don't have a clue who she had in mind when she was describing Blair and Cam, but in my own little overactive imagination, Radclyff's description of Blair led me straight to the image of Maggie Grace and Cam was instantly Carla Gugino!! But hey, that's just me! Enjoy!

One helluva start to a series!!
“How to explain that she hadn’t felt any desire to touch a woman for months, that the thought of wanting someone terrified her, that it was too much, too close. That when the memories and the guilt made it impossible for her to think or sleep, sex would give her a few hours’ peace, as long as she didn’t feel anything except the rush of release.” “She couldn’t do this, not again. She couldn’t feel this much, she couldn’t want this much. She had not touched another woman with passion since the morning she had last made love to Janet. Six hours later she had held her helplessly as she lay dying. She had vowed never to feel the longing, or the loss, again.” “Blair was a predator, all the more deadly because she was irresistible. She was beautiful in the way of wild animals, and Cam had fallen prey to her power even as she tried to deny it.”+ • + • + • +This story was absolute perfection!!! With every page I read, the more I identified with & felt connected to these characters then the more I became invested in their journey of revealing pieces of themselves & exploring each otherIt was just so realistic & relatable. I appreciate the rawness, vulnerability & innocence in how it was appreciated without being distorted &/or diminished from what it addressed!! Its a captivating, passionate & engaging boom with interesting & complex characters stirring up excitement & anticipation for what the 2nd book in this series may bring!

Another Winner in the Honor Series
Whether you read Radclyffe's series books, like the Justice series or the Honor series or the Provincetown series, or you read one of her stand-alone romances, you can not go wrong.I have been reading lesbian fiction for many years, and can honestly say that I have never come across a writer that has so affected me. Her characters are strong, intelligent, and romantic. Naysayers will say that Radclyffe's characters are too perfect almost never flawed - either in looks or character. That may be true, but aren't you tired of the genre's penchant for ordinary? Radclyffe's characters are always enchanting, intoxicating, enticing, and intense. The stories, particularly in the series books, are all first class. Most of her series books are page-turners. And in two of the books, I actually turned to the last page to make sure that the main characters survived - something I never do.Radclyffe let us believe, at least for the duration of each of her books, that the grand passion, the true love, the happy-ever-after are all possible. She lets us believe that being a strong, intelligent woman does not mean that we will be alone and/or isolated. The only caveat I have is to read the series books in order. And if you enjoy watching a writer grow, then read the non-series books in the order they were written and watch Radclyffe's talent grow before your very eyes.

Hot women, great sex, and intrigue...what more could you want?
From the moment I started reading this book I couldn't put it down. Radclyffe's writing is amazing! She has created such detailed, draw-you-in characters in a world that is so richly described that you feel like you can see the hardwood floors and look out the windows of Blair's loft. You can feel the music pulse when Blair goes to a club. You can smell the Scotch as Cam swirls it in her glass. And you can feel the individual loneliness of Cam and Blair. But once Cam and Blair meet you can feel the heat between them...and to be honest...you wish you had that kind of heat in your life. If you haven't read this book, this series, read it! You won't be sorry you spent time in the Honor Series.

A Brilliantly written first book in an amazing series
Here is the first novel in the ‘Honor’ Series by Radclyffe. It still stands out these many years later, (from its first publication date). Not only does it engage the reader from start to finish, but once you close the last page you just need to read the next book to find out what happens to Cam and Blair. Thankfully, for today’s readers, you’re in for a treat. There are many more already written in this series for you to delve into. Oh lucky reader to start this journey. A pioneer in this genre, we readers are fortunate that Radclyffe has created a seminal series. If you haven’t read any of Radclyffe’s stories, start here.

A magnificent example of Radclyffe's writing at its very best.
The story that introduces us to United States Secret Service Agent Cameron Roberts and the woman she has the unfortunate duty to protect, Blair Powell, the daughter of the President of the United States.Cameron Roberts is dedicated, strong and powerful, with a singular focus, to keep Blair Powell safe. Though she has her own vulnerability she keeps it well hidden behind walls, erected to keep her emotionally distant and aloof. The beautiful and intelligent Blair Powell feels like a caged animal fighting for her freedom, resentful of the rules and regulations that thwart her daily life. She is constantly belligerent and hostile to the Secret Service team.Cameron and Blair each find the other intolerable at times, but impossible to dismiss. With the relentless onslaught of rule breaking and cat and mouse chases, the two women have to deal with a roller coaster of emotions. Dealing with their own secrets' and demons whilst fighting their growing attraction and respect for each other.Blair believes rules are there to be broken, find a weak spot and take advantage, regardless of the consequences. Cameron dedicates her life to following rules and having structure in her life. The two women couldn't be more different, yet page after page you are drawn into the fact that they have something special growing between them.Above All Honor, is a magnificent example of Radclyffe's writing at it very best. The leading ladies are outstandingly portrayed and there is a marvellous cast of secondary characters.I absolutely adore Radclyffe's Honor series. As a reader you become emotionally invested in Cameron and Blair's future and along the way, several of the supporting cast as their characters are developed and their stories told.

Excellent
Radclyffe at her best. I honestly admit I loved it and looking forward to read book 2. I feel Radclyffe's talent lies in her ability to make you not notice the hours you spend reading her books. Before you know it the book is finished and you've lost the day. I say lost a day with tongue in cheek as its always worth reading. I enjoy her novels because they are easy to read, captivating and the characters are very realistic. So enjoy, this is an on going series which I definitely want to complete. This one can be read alone but I doubt you'll be satisfied.
