Perfect as cabin baggage, but strong enough to use in hold
Very pleased with this purchase, as its perfect for its intended use.I bought it to use as a carry on bag for air travel, and although it does exceed some airlines' bag dimensions, if it's not full it will compress to fit their measurements. I've used it twice so far for weekend breaks involving air travel, and its plenty big enough to fit enough in for a few nights away. On one trip I carried the bag on as intended, but for the other with a certain Irish airline it had to go in the hold. Despite its lightweight construction, its incredibly well made and tough enough to withstand some rugged baggage handling treatment. The back pack straps are removable, so it was just a case of detaching them and putting them inside the bag to prevent them getting caught on anything during transit. If I had one suggestion to improve it, it would be to include a small zipped pocket inside the main compartment to securely put smaller items in, instead of being loose, as this is the only compartment that can be fully locked with a padlock. Although its possible to secure the two end pockets, I wouldn't be 100% confident of them remaining that way.Although the price tag may cause some raised eyebrows, I've no regrets splashing out on it, as I'm sure I'll get many years and air miles use out of it.

Love this for travelling!
Really well made and thoughtful bag. I have used this loads of times for travelling either by trains, planes or automobiles... and it has caused no problems. It is 'carry on' sized and can be hauled as a back-pack. Which makes it useful as it can be crammed in overheads when space is gobbled up by hard carry-ons. It also has separate compartments, which have proven useful to keep dirty items separated.Overall, I love this bag and would definitely recommend.

Great Travel Bag
Previously I've been disappointed with Osprey bags that say they are 40 Litres but feel like 20 litres when you try to pack them. This bag is 45 litres and feels like 55 litres! Small enough to be a cabin bag but tons of room. From now on I'm only buying Eagle Creek bags. The end sections are great for separating dirty/ wet/ dry clothes or storing a pair of shoes. The only down side is the colour schemes. I did not want to draw attention with a bright coloured bag in Africa so I went for black. Later on I saw the red version of the bag and actually was surprised to see it is a much darker red than depicted in the product photos. Had I'd known I would have gone for the red version. Anyway ignoring the colour issue it's a great bag. Seriously, forget rucksacks this is the future of light adventure travel bags.

Boom hand luggage but holds enough for at least 2 weeks
Great bag, does exactly what it says on the tin. I used it for traveling in South Asia for 2 weeks and had more than enough room for everything I needed. Worked really well with a 4 x set of packing cubes I bought that fitted very snugly with enough space over for bits and bobs. I can see this bag doing lots and lots of air miles with me. The right size for hand luggage to.

Versatile and durable.
Nice large duffle bag which doubles up as a backpack. Would have been perfect if it had a shoulder sling strap, but that's just a minor detail.Very durable. I've taken it out when it was raining and the contents in the bag remained dry.
