A VERY expensive and much more complicated Iron only not as good.
I just don't get the point of this. I Iron does a better job at flattening clothes, is portable and can be had for a lot less. You can also get smaller steamers which are more portable, do a better job and can be had for a lot less. I'm struggling to find the point of this in all honesty. It takes up a far amount of space, okay not as much as an ironing board but still. It's a bit of a faff to get setup.Once setup if you want to hang anything heavier than a shirt on the pole thing then good luck as it's too flimsy to hold anything heavier really. You would be better off hanging whatever you want to steam on something more substantial then steaming it.The heat up process takes quite a while and it spits and hisses like an angry tabby cat waiting for a vet visit, so stand back and be careful if you make the bad choice to buy this thing. If you can get the clothes in a stable position yes it does do a decent job of steaming your clothes or curtains or whatever you are steaming, maybe you are stripping the wallpaper?Overall though there are just things out there which do a better job than this are more versatile and present superior value so while this is okay, I used it for one load of ironing/laundry stuff and that will be the last load I ever do with this.

A bit of a hassle
This steamer is a great idea but it's a bit of a hassle to use as it is so large, bulky, and quite heavy - but not heavy enough to avoid toppling if you have a large garment hung on the pole which makes it a bit pointless. It's also a bit of effort to fill and empty. Other than this, it does work quite well for steaming, I do find it easier to use than an iron (though I hang my garments on a door rather than the pole) as you don't need to faff around with an ironing board. Also quite useful for cleaning things like mattresses and sofas as the steam will help disinfect and neutralize odours. So it's a very useful thing but the design isn't the best

Not great
My wife has wanted to try a steamer like this for quite a while, so when I saw this one I thought it would be ideal. The steamer comes in a nicely presented box and has the base unit, 3 separate poles, the hose, a flat head, a clip type head, a brush attachment for the steamer head, and a heat proof glove, and some very basic instructions. The item was easy to assemble and once filled up with water, she was ready to try it, it has 2 steam settings which are selected from the switch on the base unit, and can run for 90 minutes on a full tank of water. The clothes hanger holder is where my wife has the issue, every time she put the steamer head on the garment it twisted away, even when holding the hem it still moved, no matter how she angled the base unit to see if that would help the top just spun round. The glove/mitten that is provided is a heat proof, shiny/slippy glove, this was huge on her hand and kept coming off as there is no tightening strap, just a very loose elastic wrist. The steamer works well on T-shirts, but she struggled to get all the creases out of her thicker skirt whilst trying to keep the darts in line.At £349.00 at the time of writing this review, we are a bit disappointed in the simple things, the turning hanger and loose glove, but these are in reality quite important things for something that would get a lot of use, I maybe sounding pedantic but if these are a niggle on the first day then it really isn't worth using.

Efficient. Made me ditch the iron.
The Stratus steamer is a basically a 'wrinkle-busting' tool. Solid build with a water tank of the decent size. It's able to steaming for around 1.5 hours straight, enough to conquer a big laundry basket. Heats up in approx 60 seconds, has two steam settings. Rolls around on wheels and has attachments (a brush and crease clamp) to battle wrinkles. On the downside, it's pricey, but think of it as an investment. No more iron-induced meltdowns, just wrinkle-free mornings (and evenings). The steam switch isn't the smoothest, but trust me, with results this good, who cares? I have discovered, that its not just powerful and handy - but also fun, and surprisingly enjoyable. So I reckon can ditch the iron (forever, hopefully).

So powerful
With its powerful 1850W output, it effortlessly tackles wrinkles, and the 90 minutes of continuous steaming is a lifesaver. The sleek black design adds a touch of sophistication to the process. Overall, a reliable and efficient solution for keeping clothes looking crisp and polished.

Expensive and difficult to use
As much as I want to, I cannot recommend this steamer. It is awkward to use and unstable due to the large pole out the top. There is no real control over the steam - you can choose from off, on at level 1 or on at level 2 with no ability to turn steam on on-demand. For a high-volume use this may be fine, but this is a domestic machine not an industrial one, with a commensurate build quality too.It is virtually impossible to use the hanger on the pole as the hanger plus clothing causes it to topple if not careful. The steam hose is very inflexible, and the entire unit topples over too easily, spilling water everywhere. The most bizarre thing about this steamer is that the water collects in the unit after use, and it needs to be emptied through the opening positioned at the bottom of the unit. The reservoir is open on the unit and to empty you need to tilt it to drain, except the upright pole gets in the way. It doesn't seem that thought through to be honest. To add insult to injury, the steaming quality is poor as the thing releases steam unevenly (at least my machine does). I get almost the same steam level in both settings and it almost pulses with strong shots followed by it almost dribbling out.Overall, it is awkward to use and a waste of money - more trouble than it is worth. It is a shame as I thought this could be a worthwhile steamer for me.
