Fantastic saw at premium price
I spent a lot of time debating the cost vs benefits of investing in a flesh detection saw but finally decided it was worth the investment after a very experienced woodworker friend cut off part of his thumb. There are lots of ways to get hurt With woodworking but the table saw does seem to have a high percentage of bad accidents.I also had a really hard time deciding between a sawstop and the reaxx especially since Bosch lost the patent lawsuit. After a lot of back and forth I went for the reaxx and so far I'm loving my choice. My saw arrived on time and in perfect condition via UPS. I also bought the optional side support. It took several hours to put together but everything assembled perfectly. The fit and finish is what I hoped for a $1500 saw. The saw was square out of the box and the table perfectly flat as far as I could tell. The rear and side supports are a really nice feature freeing me from having to keep around separate supports.I've only used the saw for a couple of projects so far but its been a huge improvement over my previous portable table saw. I have a small dedicated shop space and the Bosch footprint is perfect for my limited space. Prior to receiving it I thought i would build a stand on castors for it in order to minimize the footprint but have found there is no need after assembling and using the gravity rise stand for a week . I love the stand and ability to easily wheel the saw out of the way.I'm still a little nervous about Bosch having lost the patent lawsuit but decided to trust that they'll support the saw going forward and that I'll be able to buy the cartridges based on what I've read regarding the ruling. I have purchased a backup set of cartridges just in case. I would hope that 4 cartridges last me a lifetime. If I do actually trigger them with my flesh four times the hefty price I paid will be mor than worth it.

Bosch Performance Sucks
Sorry Folks - Bosch sucks. My saw arrived missing two critical parts - the blade table insert and a support rod for the table extension. Calls to Bosch are ridiculous (customer service sucks beyond belief). The quality control out of the Bosch factory must be non-existent. Customer service is rushed, impatient, incompetent, and ultimately worthless. I cannot get the damn parts ordered or delivered after multiple calls and transfers. Avoid at all cost.

Awesome but pricey [Updated] 6/2018
Im not an artisan wood worker, but I found this device easy to use and felt reassured by the safety mechanism. It took an hour or more for me to assemble. The mount is easy to move, raise and lower. I am very happy with my purchase. However, I think the extra cost may not be justified (hence one star).[Update] 6/2018I had the sensor falsely trigger once. When i went to change the cartridge the little plastic connector for attaching the wire to it crumbled in fingers, Sadly, after much indirection from Bosch support, I found out that you have to ship it back to the factory service center (not just a certified service center). So we are talking probably a couple hundred dollars shipping to fix a 10 cent piece of plastic. The good news is that Bosch found out I was being sent to the wrong places and called me by surprise to make sure it does not happen to anyone else. And without me even asking, arranged to have it shipped to their factory center in New Jersey and back home to me at no charge. While the initial issue and misdirection was disheartening, my faith was completely restored with out my having to even get upset with anyone. I am most grateful. There is a newer model now, that has better reviews. Maybe they fixed that plastic connector issue. Plus the new model is half the price. I really do like the tool. So if I was going to buy again, I would probably just want to verify that the connector is made better now. If it is not, definitely be extremely gentle when changing the cartridge.

Terrible shipping, seems to be an improvement over the Bosch 4100 (if it wasn't broken)
I'm a custom home builder and I've been using the Bosch gravity rise table saws for 10 years. The negative review of this saw is specifically a reflection of the terrible shipping which, in turn, wrecked the saw. The exterior of the box was heavily damaged but upon initial inspection of the item the saw appeared to be in working order. However, upon assembly it was apparent the saw motor and housing was dislodged from the table saw chassis. The metal bevel guide attached to the motor housing had become dislodged from the nylon bushing of the saw chassis rear of the saw housing was left hanging inside. Additionally, the data cord (similar in appearance to a HDMI) running from the main saw had been disconnected from the relay. I suspect the safety mechanism of the saw has been compromised but, of course, I would never be able to tell for certain without potentially dire consequences. Pros: the fence seems improved over the standard table saw; the convenient storage for the push stick suggests that it will be used much more often than the previous push stick; the miter guide and blade storage is improved and convenient; the included table extension is a welcome addition because the competition from SawStop includes the same feature.Amazon has agreed to ship a replacement and I will update my review upon receiving and using the new saw.

Dust Extraction is Terrible
Unless you absolutely want the flesh-detecting technology, get the Bosch 4100 instead. I found the dust extraction on this saw to be terrible. Sawdust all over the table top when sawing, and sawdust stuck in the shroud below the blade. Owner's manual says you can use a shop-vac for dust extraction -- not. I even tried my 650 CFM dust extracter, with the same results. When I called Bosch support, they even admitted that dust extraction is not as good as on the 4100.
