Excellent Replacement Mechanisms
*Great Craft Idea for KidsI restore vintage clocks I usually acquire in non working order. These Clock Mechanisms are a very inexpensive way to get them running again and having a really nice piece of history for next to nothing. I have tested free samples received of two versions of these, the High Torque Red Hand version and the Black Vintage look version. Both are quality pieces that are not only suitable replacements for repairs but to make clocks out of just about anything you can imagine. You only need to bore a hole and assemble the pieces. Imagine making a clock out of your child's artwork and giving as a gift for Mother's or Father's Day. If a child can assemble Legos, he/she can make a clock. The possibilities are endless. I repaired this Seth Thomas, purchased for $10.00 (working versions sell at auction for $175.00 plus) with a little adjustment, finagling, and a bit of luck. I always try to keep the existing hands to keep the piece as original looking as possible. This project was a great success. I highly recommend Mudder Clock Movements for quality, functionality, and just plain, inventive fun.

Decent quality clockworks
Hands were a bit long for the clock I was repairing (which I knew when I ordered)...easy enough to fix on my own with some judicious snipping and a marker to black out the shiny bits. The battery life is VERY impressive, even with cheapo generic alkaline batteries...I've haven't had to replace the battery yet, and I'm on month seven so far. The only minor issue I've noticed so far is that the clock loses about a minute every few months or so...but for the price, that's actually pretty impressive! Will definitely buy again for my next clock project.

Beauifully Designed
This clock piece is beautiful! My mother still has an old clock with her father's name on a plaque beneath the actual clock part given to him for his work as an ophthalmologist many years ago. Her father passed away even before I was born but she still has this clock - despite the fact that it no longer ticked and we couldn't just put in a new battery because the back was all rusty and a bit broken. I bought this and my brother and I put it in (no, it really doesn't need two people - we just both wanted to do a part :) ). The hands are beautifully designed (much better than the plain ones that were in the clock originally. We have brought back our grandfather to life through giving the special clock a new life <3

Worked for my giant wall clock
I have one of those giant "DIY" wall clocks, and the movement inside finally gave up. I knew I needed a high-torque mechanism to move the very long hands, so I gave this inexpensive motor a try. Although this movement comes with hands and other parts, I used mainly the black box with the motor and just one of the washer elements; I re-used my existing hands and decorative motor cover.Just like the original motor that came with the clock, this one was finicky to put together. If you don't get enough separation between the hands, they will bump into each other and not move properly around. The clock hands also need to be balanced, and light enough for the movement to work. Took a little time and patience, but I got mine assembled and back in place on the wall. Only time will tell whether the high-torque mechanism will endure, but so far so good.

Perfect replacement for weak motors that can't support very long hands.
Bought a giant wall clock from Bed Bath & Beyond even though reviews said that the motor eventually wears out due to not being able to support the extremely large hands over time and it stops working altogether. The hands on this clock are about 9.5" and 17". A month into owning the clock the motor died just as reported in reviews. People said they fixed this by purchasing a "high torque" motor from Amazon. Did a search, bought this motor, easily installed, popped in a battery and works like new again. Only test now is to see if it lasts a while now compared to the old stock motor's measly month.EDIT: 6 months later and still working fine.

Perfect fit and timing
We visited Romania and bought a clock as a souvenir...the clock hands broke on the plane so we ordered this on April 8th, it shipped April 10th...and arrived April 14th...well before the estimated April 25th date. (We have an APO overseas so this is great shipping speed). Product works great...easy to install...keeps time really well and has a pleasant ticking sound. I had ordered a black set of hands and was sent silver...but I rather enjoy the silver more...so that is no issue...but just be aware if you need a specific color.

Quit After Two Days
The mechanism quit working after two days. Kept stopping. Had to return it. Got a better one at Hobby Lobby for less money. Oh well. Had to give it a low rating. It was easy to install in the clock body but that's it. The minute hand was nearly impossible to attach, the hour hand not much better, so they got scratched up. Don't know why they didn't fit well. I've changed a lot of clock works over the years and this unit just didn't want to go together.

Made in China
The old Quartz clock mechanism I had was made in the USA. This one wasn't and it's obvious. There is no longer a indent in the mechanism for a nail to hold the clock. Also the rod for the second hand is smaller so if u have old hands that you want to use like I did, good luck. Once I spend some time doing some tricks to fix it, it works fine but it took some time.

Rubbish
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Â Useless, fitted as instructed and moves around as shown in the video. Im thinking the instructions are incorrect as there is a small nut that wasnt mentioned, and im sure he would help but hes not being given a chance! Will have to return.EDIT** just seen the problem! I bought two of these as i make clocks sometimes if i have the mind, as you can see from my pics they have gone and missed out the step for the small nut on one of the packets... Christ. If you are going to sell a product at least check the instructions are correct, right?Oh made in china...

Waste of money poor built inaccurate
The square hole in. The minute hand is so large it seems about 3 muniuts depending on weather. Gravity is pulling inaccurate is not a word effing useless is more appropriate and the hands catch on each other as they pass, precision was not in the designers mind clearly

Fixed a wooden station clock , ticking is loud with the seconds hand, should have got the 2 hand version in hindsight. However the kit was easy to fit if you are careful( hands are delicate aluminium-bend easily) and take your time. Great price to repair a faulty clock.

Keeps perfect time
I brought this to replace a poor mechanism which was constantly loosing time.It did require a bit of fiddling to get it to fit into the clock case, but once in it performed perfectly. The clock now keeps accurate time.A good quality product.
