Truly great pan. And good looking too.
Wonderful pan. Caught my eye in an outdoor Gear store in Moab. Agonized for a bit between smaller/larger size. Was a bit uncertain about a "pressure cooker" too. (No need to worry about the new pressure cookers it turns out)Went with the 5.7 L (that I would rate a 10!). Plenty of room for a whole chicken that I cooked in a can of broth for 20 min. It came out perfect for a use in a summer chicken salad. Then used the broth to cook one cup of some amazing Lundberg Wehani red rice. Some seriously good rice from the Lundberg folks.Next day I took the rest of the leftover chicken, some of the leftover rice, a cup of orange juice, a tablespoon of some peach ginger jam and pressure cooked it for about 10 min. Amazed not only how fast it cooks but how much the flavors are intensified and sealed in, it seems.Cooked a pound of some Le Puy French lentils (unsoaked) in 4 cups of broth and 2 cups of water with 4 chunked carrots and some spices and a glug of olive oil in about 15 min. and let the pan cool naturally. Delicious. Re-fried some the next morn with two eggs.Liked the pan so much I sent one to my brother and look forward to swapping tips and recipes.Great quality pan by these GSI folks. First-rate customer service. The pan's silicone gasket must be replaced every two years or so and is only $5.I have a small adventure catering business. Put me down as thrilled by my purchase. Cooking adventures await. More purchases from GSI too.

A great addition to the kitchen. Indoors or Out.
I use this thing every day. It's never failed, easy to clean, relatively inexpensive, and very well made (In USA). The operating pressure is 11 pPSI which is between what is considered low (9 PSI) and High (13 PSI) so you just need to be aware that a little bit of recipe time adjustment might be needed. It also does not have a flat bottom so sautéing is not as convenient. The wavy bottom is a trade off that allows this to be a much lighter unit than one with a thick metal bottom would be. The unit is made of aluminum, but it hard anodized. The aluminum can scratch, but the anodized surface is super hard. You can cook acidy stuff like vinegar laden sauerbraten and tomato dishes in this pot; again due to to the anodizing. And it does not corrode like most aluminum pots do. I would NOT put it in a dishwasher as caustic cleaner would probably overwhelm the coating. By adding a bottom disk I can make perfect every time hard boiled eggs by resting them upright on a bottle cap. With a steamer basket it makes a perfect steamer. I originally bought the larger unit and it also worked very well. It was just larger that a single person needs on a day to day basis. The is my go-to, always on the stove, general purpose pot now.

Will not seal so no pressure
Great pressure cooker except the pressure relief valve does not seal therefore there is no pressure.Returning the unit.

and the results were GREAT! I washed the pot and the lid by ...
I bought this 2.7 liter pressure cooker to use for camping. I bought it in 2012, placed the box in a spare room in my house, and never pulled it out until now. Actually, I forgot that I even had it. I cooked my first pot of red beans in it yesterday (4/4/2016), and the results were GREAT! I washed the pot and the lid by hand and dried it. Today, I realized that in the instruction manual, it stated that after use, you should also remove the safety valve and spring and clean those too with warm soapy water. I pulled it out, took a screw driver to it, and tried to unscrew it from the top of the lid instead of the bottom. YIKES!!!! I damaged it from the top. :-( I called customer service for assistance. After talking to Matt, he explained to me that I was supposed to unscrew it from the bottom, and he was VERY PATIENT with me when I was trying to explain to him what I had done and how I could remedy it. He called me back and offered me a NEW LID to replace this one! WOOHOO!!!! I really didn't expect this since I am the one who damaged my unit, so I was pleasantly surprised and grateful to GSI for this. Matt said he was shipping me out a new lid right away, and I am just OVERJOYED!!!! GSI's customer service is SUPERB!!! I've bought several products from them in the past, and because of the service I received, I think I will be a lifelong customer. Thanks again GSI. :-)
