From the Manufacturer The Mad Catz Dream Pad is the ultimate in comfort, style, and design. Using the look of the original SEGA Dreamcast controller, this controller has many Mad Catz advancements including being custom designed and engineered to Sega's specification, six digital buttons on the face of the controller and two analog shoulder buttons, fully programmable, digital and analog directional control, supports vibration pack and Virtual Memory Unit slots, and has vulcanized rubber grips for added comfort.

Not half bad! A couple minor things though...
Well for starters, the analog stick is like a million times better than the official Sega controller's stick. My thumb doesnt slide off during intense gameplay any more! The face buttons (letter buttons) are pretty good and solid too, although if it wasnt for the bumps on the official controller's face buttons id prefer them. The Dpad is pretty good and solid too. The start button is shaped different than the official sega one for some reason. Its diamond shaped instead of triangle. Also its larger than the sega controller and I dont mind that its heavier either.2 negatives though:1. I read another user's review that said "the shoulder buttons become almost painful to use after awhile" and before buying it, I was in disbelief... but holy crap was he/she right! You'd be much better off swapping the triggers from the official Sega controller out and replacing these ones to saving yourself from the pain.2. The VMU slots are wayyy too narrow and the VMUs fit in there extremely tightly, so I took a pocket knife and cut the ridges off in the top slot that hold the sides of the VMU in. Since it slides in and clicks into the connector, you dont even need the ridges.Overall, its a step up from the sega controller...you just have to modify it a bit.

L & R trigger feel good. Cheap
Came in the mail yesterday, I forgot I ordered it. :P Brand new in original package.Pros: Rubber on analog stick, A B C X Y Z buttons have solid response, L & R trigger feel good. Cheap.Cons: Rubber on D-Pad, and is too big. This is a bad idea for fighting games, special moves are impossible to pull off. The rubber makes it impossible to slide your thumb across. If the D-Pad was a + shape instead of a 4 leaf clover, it wouldn't be so bad.If your looking for a fighting game pad, buy a Total control 3 and a Official SEGA Saturn Pad. However, this is a good pad for everything else.

Meh
New old stock, but the X button didn't work at all. I'll try fixing it. The stick feels OK. I think the programmable buttons are kind of in the way. But haven't tried playing fighting games with it due to the X button not working. Otherwise it'd probably be the best solution.I did try Ikaruga with the dpad and it's fine. Better than the stock DC pad IMO.

Playstation on Dreamcast Solution
I'll keep this short and simple- if your looking to play Playstation games on the Dreamcast with Bleem, this is your controller. If you hold down the program button it turns green and puts the controller into "6 button mode" which makes Z and C L2 and R2, and now you can play Playstation games without having to give up 2 buttons or mess with the control options. Also a much better feeling controller than the original. Also its nice to have L and R as face buttons for Dreamcast games sometimes, fighting games for example.ONLY downside... some of the Beats Of Rage mods dont seem to like this controller. THATS IT.

This is especially good for fighters
Once you get use to the new layout its a worthy addition. This is especially good for fighters. Vmu an rumble packs can be a little hard but not impossible to remove.

One fatal flaw
Awesome controller with one fatal flaw: When I use the controller I have to unplug it and re plug it in every time i change games or turn the console on
