Good value but not Gortex
I needed to prepare for a winter field exercise, but I'm on a budget so couldn't justify springing for a Gortex BIVY. I went with this. I packed this BIVY, a wool blanket. It worked like a champ. I was quite warm during the below freezing nights. A buddy used one of these with only a wool blanket and Woobie and froze his ***s off while being fully clothed. Was that the right call? I don't know. Some say you should strip down to fill the bag with heat better. Stripping down wasn't really an option for us however.Things to note. The construction is solid. The material is a durable canvas-like material (not cotton) with a water proof layer inside.Be aware the zipper is on the right side. If your sleeping bag zipper isn't also on the fight it's a notable inconvenience. It will collect condensation inside. You'll want to ensure you dry and air it out in the morning before you pack up.I'm 6.1, 215 lbs and fit fine but there is no wiggle room. This means if your arms are out of your bag inside the BIVY they will press against the inside of the bag bringing the cold closer to youStill it's about what I expected from the description and I'll use this BIVY many, many times in the future.

Awesome
Very duranle, winter bag fits in nicely,,havnt used yet waiting for blizzard,,however as a shell it keeps summer bugs away dont need blanket with it,,in late spring or fall will use wool blanket with shell

Almost perfect
It is really quality construction compared to most other bags. Plenty of space to move and add layers. The head covering is a bit awkward and as you move at night a draft of chill will waft in and force you to realign but only in sub zero temps do you really have to worry about that and even then it is not a huge issue. My only real complaint is the condensation build up inside will wet your sleeping bag on the outside if you inadvertently roll the vinyl side over top when you sleep. Pay attention to how you set it up. Also Having an absorbent blanket or towel in the sack with you is very practical if you are doing a multi day trip

Better than I expected
I bought the snug pak bivy fir like $300 and then bought this fir under $100, and like it so much more than my snug pak, it packs a little bit bigger than the snug pak and theirs no face cover which honestly you don’t really need one , very thick durable material yet light , I highly recommend it

Not entirely waterproof but better than nothing
I was in a slight drizzle for about 3 hours, woke up with a little water intrusion, not enough to soak my sleeping bag but it was not completely dry. For the money I’m slightly disappointed.

Long-lead delivery time, good product
Quality appears to be very good and should be very durable, based on the quality of construction and materials. Military grade product.I ordered this item on 3/23/2021 and it just arrived on 5/15/2021. It shipped from the United Kingdom, so took a long time without paying higher shipping/delivery charges.Despite the slow delivery speed, I think the quality of the product will be worth it.

Great Product!!
The fact that it is new and never used at the same price the army surplus store charges is prime!

Miltech bivvy
Revieved very quick thanks. Haven't test in the field yet, but happy with 1st inspection. Not the lightest but seems good quality and plenty of room.

Waterproof, warm, super easy, light weight
I love my miltec! I bikepack with it always. 900g or so. 2 minutes to setup. Put a mattress and light weight sleeping bag in and you are done. I fold mine up in a triangle shape so it fits in my bicycle frame bag. It’s so lovely not having sun in your eyes in the morning. Easy to get in and out. Very spacious inside. I use a 60cm wide mattress and I’m 180cm. Other bivy bags are just rain coat wrapper for your sleeping bag. This however is real canvas and layers. It will add some insulation to your setup and keep you dry. I recommend a ground sheet but depending on your situation and ground type it’s probably not needed.
