Q: Are these speakers efficient enough run off my 50 watt per Yamaha receiver which I find a little under powered

I use them with a Yamaha RX-371 for rear surround speakers in my bedroom. I think my Yamaha is around 80-100 watts (80 for the rear). I would find it hard to believe that 50 watts wouldn't comfortably drive them but I can't say that for sure. Buy a pair from Amazon Prime. Try them out with your equipment. It's a small charge to send them back. I think the NHT speakers are the best bang for the buck. I've bought them on and off over the last 20 years. I had a pair installed in each stateroom on my sailboat. Nothing compared to their sound while crossing the Caribbean!

Q: Any way to hang these on a wall?

This speaker sounds very good at ear level height a good pair of speaker stands is all you need and are safer than wall hanging.

Q: Can I plug in a speaker wire with a 1/4-inch plug?

Not without an adapter of some sort. It takes bare wire or banana plugs directly.

Q: Is there any reason to buy these over the superone? aside from cost. i will not be using a sub.

Very different speakers. If you're not using a sub, you want the SuperOne. The SuperZero has no bass and is designed to be used with a subwoofer. By themselves, they're quite unfulfilling.
