Seems like it's just what we needed!
We've had a problem with our dog flying out of our bedroom and galloping down the laminate floor hallway when our toddler is sleeping...sounds like a herd of elephants with his nails clicking from one end to the other. With another baby on the way, we had to find an affordable option to minimize the noise (in hopes that eventually both kids will sleep later in the morning if they aren't awakened by all the noise at 5am when my husband gets up).We ordered 5 sets of these (each comes with 9 squares) and surprisingly, they seem to be just what we needed. They are definitely more of a "fuzzy" material than carpet like, but it's not a huge deal since they are in the hallway. They went together in a hot second and it actually seems like they are going to stay put even without a non-slip mat under.Like others have said, they did shed as I was putting them together, but I can't speak to whether or not they will continue to do so.They work and are pretty cheap, so it looks like it's going to be just fine for what we needed!

soft, luxurious feel to these carpet rug mats
The carpet rug mats provide a soft and firm surface area for my 11 month old to play on. I purchased 3 sets of these and they seem to be of good quality. I took off one star because I felt that the mats do not stay connected very well when trying to transport them from one place to another. They tend to fall apart and you have to put them back together again. I thought the pieces could be a little more tight fitting. I also wish the pieces were bigger.

Thin, but easy to work with.
My kids like that they're super soft. Not sure how well they'll hold up as they're a tad flimsier than I expected. On the bright side, the place we put them required them to be cut a bit to fit the area and they are easy to work with as far as that goes. Very easy to put together as well.
