Excellent minimalist pack UPDATED Jan 26
Got this pack yesterday from Backcountry via Amazon. It's tiny but that's the appeal of it.I like the small back pouch size. It fits the purpose I had in mind which is combining a light, compact pack just big enough for carrying food and essentials with handheld bottles. This will be my set up for well supported events or loop training runs that allow me to return to the car to top off.Took it out for a 23 miler today with a moderate load and it fit me like a glove without restricting movement or chafing even while shirtless. The straps adjust very easy and the magnetic snaps on both the main pouch and the waterproof pill holder work perfectly as self closing mechanisms. Lift the flap, grab a pill, release the flap and it closes. Simple as that.Haven't tried the bladder and probably won't as I need the pouch for cargo (TP, mini FAK, knife, light shell if needed). If I am to find fault with it, it is pricey compared to the very similar Nathan 028 and the zippered pouch can barely hold an iPhone 5 in a Zagg case. Otherwise, it's a great "essentials only" pack.UPDATE Jan 26: I used this pack for the San Diego 50 Mile run which is a very well supported event. It was the perfect size for me to just carry enough Gu chomps to make it from aid station to aid station where I refueled. Ride wise it never gave me any discomfort nor did it feel hot or heavy throughout.

Didn't include bladder like advertised.
Posted as having bladder included. Ordered twice and no bladder. Returned and ordered somewhere else.

Everything is great except the water valve
Everything about this vest is awesome except the water valve. The water valve is awful. I have the pop the valve with my hand and water usually squirts out before I get it to my mouth. If this pack had a bite valve it would be perfect. It's super light with lots of storage. A great fit for a small female runner like me who can't carry lots of weight.

but from what I read on other reviews I am happy it did not
I don't know if it was suppose to come with the hydration system.Mine did not, but from what I read on other reviews I am happy it did not. I purchased the Hydropak Elite 1l hydration system. I use it primarily for running.I love how it gloves to the body and does not move. I keep some Gu in the front vest zipper pocket and my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in the other one. I love that I can take my phone with me and all of my running aps and music for my run with out needing a bulky arm band.At first I was a little hesitant about the 1 liter size, comming from the military we would lug around 3 liter hydration packs. To be honest with you, I am not burning through a full liter on most of my runs. The possibility of having to look for a refill out ways lugging around a big and heavy hydration system, which this is not. I am very happy with design, no chaffing. I am very happy with the weight and stability.

I got this because I Hate carrying water
I got this because I Hate carrying water , I mean I hate it, waist packs, handhelds, it's like the Bain of my existence. I tried the orange mud Hydraquiver, fuel belts, Hated both. Finally when I stared going over 13 miles I realized I had to be serious about carrying enough hydration so I narrowed it down between this and the Nathan intensity. I chose this because I don't drink that much on my runs and figured it would be more lightweight. Did one 12 miler and one 15 miler and ended up drinkin it all so maybe I do new a bigger one! Love this pack, I know it sounds cliche but you really do forget it is on after the first few miles. The straw is not a bite valve, but it's not really a big deal, f you don't like pulling it open, and pushing it closed, just use a different bladder with it. Plenty of storage for gels, trash, phone, food, electrolyte tabs, really fits like a second skin. The straw Does not stay in the little look that well, after around mile 10 it kept falling out so I just wrapped some duct tape around the neck if the tube and now it stays totallyPut.

Still not sure if I like something on my back while running though
Very lightweight. Comparable price. Still not sure if I like something on my back while running though.
