Giro Quarter MIPS Urban Bike Helmet

I thought the build quality and price was pretty darn good. I like the orange color, weight, and new safety features. It just did not fit. There was space in the front and back but it was too tight on the sides. As consumer, I have come to the following conclusions about bike helmets. Bike helmets are mostly designed for people who have oval circumference heads not circle one. This discrimination must stop. Circle circumference heads must unite and petition our cause to have cool looking bike helmets as well.

This is the best helmet of this type that I have ever used! In the past, I have used a Triple Eight Brainsaver, which was a great helmet but it had a problem where the shell would separate from the foam. This helmet appears to not have that problem but I have not had it long enough to see for sure. I have also noticed how well this helmet vents for this style. It is not like a mountain bike helmet, but my head is considerably less sweaty than my Triple Eight. The helmet also has a thick shell so it sticks about 3cm from your face. While I thought it was odd at first, it ended up not being a big deal. I do not have many complaints about this helmet but, the biggest one I notice is that the chin strap lies close to your neck which can get very uncomfortable after a while. I think this is probably something properly adjusted straps could fix. The only other complaint I have, while it is being nitpicky, is that the MIPS liner can get stuck of your hair and pull it when you take it off. This is not a complaint but this helmet runs a bit large. But in the end, this a great helmet and I feel very safe throwing down bigger tricks. Giro always makes great products and this continues that streak.

I use this helmet for when i ride my BMX at the skateparks. It fits great and protects well. I’ve taken a couple falls off some quarter pipes and jumps and my head has been fine. No dents or chips to the helmet, not even any scratches - so it does a really good job. Much better price on amazon when i bought it then Dick’s which is where i first saw it.

I purchased this helmet for casual rides around town. The fit is pretty much dead on from the rough measurements I took personally and what was listed on the manufacturers site. Cool and breathable for casual rides ( I live in Florida ) but if you ride to work up a sweat or are in a humid climate maybe look for something with more vents. No complaints as it does what I need, breathes and protects me ( physically and from the sun ).The quality is top notch and Mips is the system that is taking safety a step further. I would recommend this to anyone looking to buy this particular model helmet.

It fit as advertised. My head is 55 cm so I am right at the border of the small and medium. I went with a small.With the thinner pads it barely goes on, so I thought it would feel too tight, but it is actually pretty comfortable. I didn’t notice I was wearing it after a few minutes. It took a little work to get the straps adjusted right.I look pretty goofy wearing it, but I don’t think that would be any different for any other helmet so it is not the fault of this design.The cost was also better than just about anything else with MIPS.

my head is small - measures 55cm - length was ok but width too tight / narrow, secure but too much pressure to wear comfortably. I ordered the medium and with the thicker front padding is secure enough - as the fit instructions indicate your forehead skin should move with the helmet when twisting left to right. I generally have a hard time finding helmets that fit - other Giro models the straps have always been too long when fully tightened - this is secure with straps fully tightened/as far as can be adjusted.

My son currently wears a Giro Dime in a size Small. It's too tight on him so we thought we should upgrade to the Adult Quarter with MIPS in an Adult Small. The helmets are are almost the same size, in fact the new Adult Quarter with MIPS is actually tighter than the youth helmet.I attached some photos comparing the two. The youth is on the left and the adult is on the right.Disappointed in sizing.

I was very excited to get this helmet as it is a very aesthetically pleasing. It matches the color of my bike and its one of the only BMX/Skate style helmet that has MIPS. I ordered the large based on my measurements and the sizing chart. So I got a large. The helmet was too big and I was able to move it around so I exchanged it and got a medium. This one was too small and tight on the sides. Therefore, these helmets are not meant for people with intermediate/round head shapes unfortunately. But otherwise it’s a very nice helmet.
