Madden NFL 2003 - PlayStation 2

Forget all of the later versions. This is still the best. Franchise mode is the best, graphics for PS2 were awesome, and even the snow looked better than anything now. The last Madden I bought was 18 and it's unplayable. This was inexcusable seeing as how Madden 2003 was and still is such an immersive yet playable and fun game. Next year they should take the Madden name off the series. It's a dishonor to him. This series peaked in 2003.

Okay Madden 2003 is definately a step up from 2002. With options of creating your own offensive, and defensive play's you can put your football knowledge to the test. I like the graphics on this one and the background music is also entertaining. The new training camp is designed to get you ready for the regular season, it does sharpen your skills in all the area's of trianing that you go through. However that training really does you no good when your playing against the CPU. In fact it's only good for the first two or three quarter's, after which if you are in the lead you can forget about it. Your players; no matter how good they are will start playing football like they did when they were just learning with dad. and that's in rookie mode. if you decide to really test your skill and go to pro or all Madden you will be lucky if you even get to touch the ball. The CPU definately will cut your skill level down to a more manageable size for itself. In short it's hard, not impossible to beat the CPU, you will witness some of the most death defying catches run's and breaking tackles that you have ever seen. In the same token your player's forget they are playing football and you lose control of the players. Good game I like it, it would be better if not for this fact. Excellent to play with freinds

While Madden 03 clearly is still the best football game on the market, it is not that much better than 02. The functions like the draft, and the player progression got a little better, but not much else. This game still is great, but not revolutionary.One thing I did notice playing this game was that you could actually run up the middle and not have to be using Marshall Faulk as your running back. The computer is tough to beat on the hardest level, although when the game makes your players drop passes more on a harder level it seems a bit rigged against your chances of beating the computer.All in all, a great game, but not much different than 02. Worth buying just for the new rosters.
