Completely worth it
Use this pack for work. I'm picky about backpacks because I use them all the time. This backpack is one of the best I have owned. Plenty of room for my gear and still have more space if I need it! 5/5 stars. Extremely durable, crazy comfortable, tons of room, and light for its size! Worth every penny

An Excellent Field Pack Gets Better
My first BFM was issued to me about eight years ago. It was a thoughtfully designed pack, with lots of storage and great internal and external straps to secure gear. This new BFM, however, has benefitted from almost a decade of subtle tweaks. The NVG pocket at the top of the pack and the two, smaller pockets to either side of it are genius and make quick access to your most needed items a snap. The padded semi-rigid back plate helps settle the load on your hips and helps airflow around your lumbar region. Using the internal straps, you can further adjust gear to place weight higher on your shoulders if you prefer. This obviously depends on your needs/application, but it's a good compromise if you're not looking for a giant rigid frame setup. The pack, itself, feels more compact (even though it holds as much or more than the original) and it holds it's shape better when carrying lighter loads. This was my one complaint about the original BFM: it looked like a half-full laundry bag when you tried to use it as a daily pack. Pull the water bladder out of the current BFM and you've got a great garrison/office pack. Throw in a laptop sleeve to protect your computer (if applicable), pop a spare name tape on the Velcro strip above the MOLLE lash points, and you're good to go.A little pricey, but it's worth it.

just got this back and i love it. i wish it was made in usa
just got this back and i love it. i wish it was made in usa, mine is made in mexico, but it is made well and very durable, i can tell. army property did a great job here because i thought straps would be thin and no removable hip belt, thats what camelback said and i spoke to a warrenty person, so i suggest camelback wakes up, but army property delivered, great service, will love the bag, big, durable, great price point, wish it was made her, but i give it a nine out of 10, hey my hawg is made in mexico and its great, so go get one, very impressed

I love this bag
I love this bag. The space in this bag is awesome! It is laid out very well with tons of pockets in the right spots. This is a great 3 to 4 day pack. The design is wonderful - the zippers to the main pocket go all the way down so you can open it all the way up and never have to dig for anything. It comes with the Mil Spec Antidote Reservoir - this thing is fantastic. I use this for long trips and bought the smaller version of this as an everyday carry, (Camelbak Motherlode) and it is just as great. Thanks Camelbak

LOVE this bag, I hope it lasts!
I bought this bag for a month long trip to Australia, Fiji and New Zealand. It was perfect for what I needed as we hiked the Outback, went deep sea fishing, even just walking around the cities. It held a decent sized lunch cooler, my DSLR camera bag, extra batteries, first aid kit, GoPro with a couple accessories, umbrella, change of clothes, sunglasses case, sunscreen, iPad, phone chargers, AND 3L WATER ! - everything we could need - AND I still had room if we picked up a couple souvenirs along the way.Water bladder is easy to fill and install into the back of the bag. The bladder compartment is well thought out with a strap to hang the filled bladder at the top and a back plate to keep the bag upright so it doesn't collapse and squish the bladder. I also found that the drinking line stows easily into the bladder compartment when not is use - a good idea for when you're flying to protect the drinking line and spout. The main compartment also unzips all the way to allow easy access to any electronics I needed to remove from the bag in order to clear airport security efficiently - no need to try and dig through the whole bag to find your items.I didn't expect to make much use of the waist and chest straps (I've had other bags with these that I never used) but once I put them to use, the bag was so much more comfortable to wear and hike with. The straps are a little cumbersome to adjust due to the velcro straps that hold the excess slack - but once you get them set, they definitely serve their purpose to keep the extra slack contained, while ensuring the straps won't loosen during use. Before my purchase, I read other reviews about the build quality, and I when I received the bag, I was a tad concerned with how it would hold up - I felt for the price, it could've had thicker material, especially on the bottom of the bag, but I just kept mindful of that while I was traveling and it held up very well. It endured roughly 50+ miles of hiking, numerous Uber/cab rides and I was surprised how well it functioned as an airline carry-on for our 13 flights (just remember to empty the bladder). My ratings:Comfort-5; even at full capacity it was very comfortable to wear - and I had it packed heavy at times.Durability-4; The reason being, even though it DID hold up with no signs of wear so far; I will always be mindful to handle it with a certain amount of care.Value-4; For the price, the material could have been a little thicker in some areas for piece of mind. However, in my opinion; the bag's ease of use, cargo capacity and the drinking system make up for it.I Hope this helps - Safe Travels!

Huge
This bag is massive. It essentially replaces your medium ruck. The bladder comes out for easy cleaning or if you just want the bag without a bladder. Served me well for 4+ years.Note: If the bladder is full, your storage space becomes more limited.

Updated item at excellent price
I liked the finish and durability of this product. The item I received was the updated version and differs slightly from the pic on the website. However this is a bonus as the newer version is more expensive in other retailersHuge capacity and excellent water storage. Not too bulky and comfortable to wear.

Currently listed at nearly $400 seems too steep. I paid $192 CDN which made it a great deal. The fabric is lighter than that of 5.11 and Blackhawk! products so I'd caution using it for multiday hikes or a bugout bag. For day hikes or range use, it's perfect.

Very happy with my new Camelbak BFM bag
I love this bag, I had the desert Camo before I bought the black BFM that I used in Afghanistan during operations and it was better than our Canadian issued bag.
