DrayTek Vigor 2920n Wireless 802.11n Dual WAN Security Router

I purchased this router because of its feature set. This is a well thought out and well executed product, but fell short for me in the VPN area. I was specifically interested in the VPN server/client capabilities, but found the IPSEC/L2TP VPN to be unusable because it is easily blocked by corporate firewalls (specifically mine). OpenVPN was/is a much better solution on 2 counts. The ports can be user defined, and it supports a TAP connection which allows layer-2 networking on a LAN. This was great for my needs, since it supports protocols like Bonjour, etc... Also, OpenVPN is every bit as secure as L2TP/IPSEC.I was running an old Linksys WRT-54GL router with Tomato VPN firmware, which was working wonderfully for me. But the old router hardware was getting a little long in the tooth, which is what motivated me to upgrade. I wanted integrated 5Ghz wireless and a Gigabit switch. Do to the aforementioned VPN issue, I returned the DrayTek and picked up a Cisco/Linksys e3000 and loaded Tomato on it. WOW. This is what I have been looking for. Gigabit ethernet, dual-band wireless (the DrayTek made you choose 2.4 or 5Ghz, but would not run both together like the Linksys). All that and the unmatched interface and feature set of Tomato. If that's not enough, I was able to buy 2 E3000's for the price of one DrayTek. I'm very happy.

This is not a rack mount router so It should have all the status lights at front and the power, antena and ethernet connectors at the rear.I have intermitent problems with one of my two ISP providers and the router unfortunately doesn't detect that leaving all the users without access to the internet instead of seamless routing them to the working WAN , of course defeating the purpose of having a router capable of balancing the load between two carriers and unfortunately I had to set the problematic WAN port to work only as a backup, wasting a two WAN capable router.I wish the manufacturer would improve the firmware and correct this.Update 2017The router started to loose WAN 1 and WAN 2 connection. Contacted Draytek for support and to repair the router, to my dismay their answer was that they do not provide service nor repair the routers and suggested I purchase a new one.Conclusion: Stay away of this brand and now my rate is zero stars

I've had this router for a few months. I'm not impressed. I run a small website behind it that averages about 28,000 pages requests per day.First, part of the purpose of a Dual-WAN router is increased connectivity reliability. I've yet to add the 2nd ISP/WAN but I'm not encouraged to do so with this router. In the few months I've had the router, I've had to reboot it 4-5 times due to it freezing. All traffic through the router came to a halt....WAN->LAN, LAN->LAN, and LAN->WAN. In that time, my ISP has not gone down once. Exactly what good is a Dual-WAN router if the router is more prone to failure than the ISP?Second, the wireless performance is poor. I don't get a very good signal even less than 10' from the router. Using various wireless tools to analyze the signal strength, I get a strong signal from some of my neighbors that are 40' away or more.FOLLOWUP (5/2013): It turns out that the real culprit in this model seems to be the wireless. It never worked well but now that I've turned it off and upgraded the firmware, this unit has been incredibly stable and reliable. I now recommend this if you don't plan on using the wireless (or get the version without wireless and save the money).

Worst Router Ever, I bought this router for my small business. The features are great but in reality performance sucks especially wifi. Its eats my bandwidth by more than half, and doesn't allow things to connect and keeps loosing packets and high latency, NEVER AGAIN IM Going to invest in one these !! Please dont bother, Specs are great but it can't perform

Clunky to setup, unstable ( looses settings quite often - for no apparent reason ); WiFi range is poor. Overall a disappointment. I would suggest a Peplink and a regular router to whomever wants a solution like this. Too late for me to return.

I love this product. Simple to setup and easy to understand. Now i have 2 internet connections going into the router and whenever one fails, the other kicks in instantly.

Very, very difficult to get support. Does not support FTP servers

Excellent routeur de classe professionnel.Très stable, je l'utilise en duo avec le modem vigor120 qui fonctionne très bien lui aussi.Il s'agit clairement d'un routeur à vocation pro.L'interface est complexe.La force des produits Draytek, c'est justement toutes les fonctions incluses dans le produit, qui ne sont pas présents dans les autres.Port usb pour clef 3G ou stockage fichier (NAS), VPN, double wan, wifi 802 n, firewall objet, content filtering ...Une fois l'interface maitrisée, tout est possible ! (utilisable en Telnet ou web).Le firewall en mode objet est un des plus puissants que je connaisse.En bref, un excellent routeur réservé aux personnes ayant besoin de toutes ces fonctionnalités (travailleur domicile, entreprise ...).

Habe mittlerweile zwei Draytek Vigor 2920n im besitzEinen in Deutschland und einen in Thailand um über vpn auf meine Server zugreifen zu können.Auch das Wlan ist im ganzen Haus bestensAlles ohne Probleme, kann dieses Produkt nur weiter empfehlen.

Très stable, rapide et offrant vraiment beaucoup de fonctionnalités.Le VPN marche très bien et est stable.La VOIP fonctionne très bien grâce au QoS.La gestion du double WAN est réussie.C'est agréable de voir un routeur qui offrent autant de fonctions et qui fonctionne !La concurrence sort bien trop de modèles buggés, comme la série des Cisco RV042.Seul bémol : l'interface n'est vraiment pas intuitive et cela prend trop de temps pour le configurer comme on le souhaite.

Un bon produit permettant non seulement de faire de l'agrégation de réseau mais également de définir par machine ou par protocole quel réseau WAN utiliser
