Funny and episodic
Love this series. Purchased on a whim. If you enjoy short, slice of life style anime, you’ll like this one. Be warned, there is quite a bit of sexual humor. Overall, funny series.

Fast pace and off-colour humour - A high school comedy classic
The Basics - This is the blu-ray of Seitokai Yakuindomo. There are five blu-ray discs in the package. Disk 1 is Series one episode 1 - 9, disc 2 is Series one episodes 10 - 13. The pattern is repeated for Series two. The final disc is the movie. The movie is about an hour long. There are no English dubs and so there are only subtitles. The Plot - It's rather hard to say this is a plot. There are some themes which run through the two series but in reality this is an episodic rather than plot driven anime. When it comes to choosing a high school Takatoshi Tsuda chooses Ousai (Osai) Academy because it is near his home and he doesn't have to walk up a steep hill to get there. On his first day of school Tsuda is greeted by Shino Amakusa who corrects his sloppy uniform. As Ousai Academy has just become co-ed and Shino is president of the Student council she co-opts Tsuda to become the vice president of the Student Council and token male. Tsuda is thrust into the chaotic world of the student council and has to cope with the off-colour jokes of Shino (President), Aria Shichijo (rich girl, and secretary of the council)and Suzu Hagimura (short, genius, treasurer and Tsundere). They have to run the student body whilst coping with the unwelcome attention of Hata Ranko who heads the student newspaper and wants to get the gossip about the council which she can exaggerate.Comment - Each episode is generally split into two or three sub-episodes which run along with manic energy. Tsuda plays the straight man to Shino and Aria's dirty-jokes which are funny but can get a bit repetitive. All of the required slice of liefe tropes are present and correct. There's the short Suzu (many, many, many jokes about her height), the school trip, the swimsuit episode. It should be boring but it isn't. It's fast pace, relentless gags and Tsuda's dry wit and comments mean this never gets boring. The first series is definitely the best because the concept is fresh and the episodes are more focused. The second series and the movie lose the impact of the first but are still funny. This is going to be a "marmite" anime for a lot of people. You will either love it or hate it. I loved it and am looking forward to the second movie which is supposed to be released in 2020.Other things you might like: Student Council's discretion, Monthly girls Nozaki-kun, Haven't you heard I'm Sakamoto and Kawia complex guide to Manors and Hostel behaviour.

Fun
Amusing slice of school life in the fish out of water vein. When Takatoshi Tsuda starts at his new school he discovers it just changed to a co-ed student body. On his first day he is shanghaied into being the token male on the student council. A lot of off-color references and sexual double entendre from the female members leave Tsuda to be on the receiving end of the sexual harassment.

Now this is comedy
This series made me laugh so hard when I first saw it. I'm shocked it has taken this long to get a western release. If you're a fan of innuendos, crazy slapstick, and just comedic misunderstandings then this is for you

There is nothing serious about this show, nor the movie.
Seitokai Yakuindomo is a shallow comedy based on double entendre and deliberate use of terms and circumstances to make the viewer laugh. None of the main characters are very mature, even the adults, but a few "walk on, walk off" characters act like real people. The strongest "message" is that most of the jokes, mistaken wording, and double entendre are of female origin, and the males are actually portrayed as more sensible, and less likely to do something stupid.Season one has a plot, and should earn five stars, season two is picking up and jamming jokes together, and the movie is kind of "one more time" with the setting an fine points of the joke hidden, so it is a four star. The movie has a smaller use of plot and structure, and many of the jokes simply go overboard, but it is a good, solid four star.It is a series where you either "get it" or remain baffled, and much of it is just bad puns, double entendre, and sexual innuendo but without the graphic nudity, so drawing age lines doesn't work, it is more "how mature" the watcher is than how old they are.
