Horrible buzz between 10th and 14th fret even after straightening the neck.
This guitar looks and sounds great, I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, even though it is brand new, when I received it and played it for the first time, I immediately noticed that it is unplayable from the 10th to the 14th fret. The truss rod was completely loose and even after tightening it to straighten the neck, where the neck meets the body (again, between 10th and 14th fret), every single string buzzes terribly. The only way to solve this issue would be to file the frets and raise the bridge, which isn't that expensive but it's just unacceptable that a brand new instrument has such huge issues. This isn't a very expensive guitar but it isn't very cheap either. I'm considering a refund as I shouldn't have to bring it to a luthier to fix the above issues when it's brand new.

Couldn't be happier
I have wanted a Gitane Jorgenson for a long time, Amazon had a crazy low price on it for some reason, so I pulled the trigger. Great guitar, and it really solves the dilemma about the d-hole vs. the oval. Here is the most important thing, folks: You need the right pick to play this guitar properly!!! I bought a V-Pick Dimension. Yes, it is crazy to buy a $10 pick, but this thing has changed my guitar life. They make a couple of other picks, which I am going to try, but if I lose this one, I am going to order another 3 or 4 more. I hope no one thinks I am a salesman for them. They are just the best pick for a guitar strung with 11's or higher. Together with the guitar- MAGIC!

It plays easy. The tone is stunning
First time writing a review on Amazon.I bought this guitar three years ago. It is incredible in many ways. The action is stellar. It plays easy. The tone is stunning. The main issue I have is that in low humidity outside the case this guitar becomes unplayable. It begins to sound terrible. Living in Colorado this is my only guitar I have in my collection that I must do this kind of upkeep to keep it working.

Beautiful!
Stunning to behold. The brazilian rosewood veneer is the most beautiful I've seen. Craftsmanship is first rate. However, this guitar is not for everyone. The robust tone is somewhere between a guitar, a banjo, and a self-amplified guitar. Good for gypsy jazz melodies, but not so great for chords that accompany vocals.
