Great For Price
I recently picked Top Spin 3 up for 10 bucks and for that price it is a 5 star game. The gameplay controls are smart albeit somewhat challenging to completely implement in your game plan. I like how every button has a unique purpose with the left and right analog sticks serving dual purposes. The visuals are certainly top notch especially for a game released in 2008. Heck Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2012 doesn't look this good ! The player creation tool is excellent as is the mall to play dress up for your created character. This game has Maria Sharapova which for me is a big plus. I can have plenty of fun and get into an exhibition match quickly (no move screens to wait out). I have Virtual Tennis 2010(release year -not sure if that's the title)and didn't like it. I've tried Grand Slam Tennis 2 and didn't like it but I certainly like this ! It has a very smart, efficient design with no code or time wasted where it doesn't need to go like announcing, Top Spin School, Hype-build-up etc. Steve Jobs would have been proud !But if anyone has ever read my reviews I can be critical and I have spotted a few bogeys in this release(not enough to sway my overall opinion but they bear mentioning. An easy one is the soundtrack which I do not like(wasn't born in the 80's) but you can reduce the volume down to 1 so it ain't much of a problem. Another issue that may be somewhat more problematic is the AI pro player ability variance within the same general difficulty level(default easy). I'll give an example. I play Sharapova against Johansen and almost always win in straight sets. I have to try and struggle somewhat but always prevail. Now I play Sharapova vs.Ghotari who has and overall attribute rating of 69 just like Johansen and not only can't I win a set, I rarely win a game. She gets to almost everything and places it perfectly in 1 corner or another. My unforced errors as Sharapova shoot through the roof so half the time when I should win a point I don't because of the AI. This does not feel anything like the Johansen matches. It feels like the difficulty level has been ratcheted up a notch or 2. I wonder if there's a programmer out there laughing right now at my frustrations cause in a way it's funny. I'm glad the game has standards however. It forced me to improve by trying new shots and strategies.***Going back to top spin school was the ticket especially if you can achieve an A in each category. At least then you know the shots. Implementing all of them in matches is the trick !

Awesome Tennis 🎾 Game
This is the best Tennis game I ever played it’s too bad they don’t make a better game than this especially since this was made in 2009 and to me it’s gameplay is better than Topspin 4 and Tennis World Tour 2 also

Difficult to swing
Characters here have an awful mean demeanor that's not appropriate of good sportsmanship for kids to watch.Virtual Tennis 3 is easier to play and has video game mode that you can hit a ball against a colorful wall.

Way better than top spin 4
The animation are better than top spin 4, and Federer is so good in this game. The PS3 edition is the only edition that contains Nadal, and the Nadal in this game is made in realistic with his famous sleeveless.

Trash!!!!
I like the sport of tennis, but this game is bad. I had Virtua Tennis and it was fun. I think these companies are in so much competition that they decide to hurt the consumer by making the games too realistic. I played this game for a a little bit and I'm very dissatisfied. I paid $60 for this game and should have kept my Virtua Tennis, at least that was fun and not too in depth. I think if your a serious avid tennis player then this is for you, but if your like me who just wants some fun and to smack the ball then don't buy TS3 get Virtua Tennis and where are the Williams sisters????Ps. The players move so slow that you will lose if you play the computer and if you make a mistake then you don't get much of a chance to rectify the situation.

Takes some time but fun.
This game is great. I have played it before on other systems and love it just as much on my new PS3.Bad first - The most annoying thing to me was starting out the game, the timing is tough to get down and it took a good week of playing to cut down on just straight up missing the ball which was really frustrating at first. Now that I have played the game for over a month I really enjoy the gameplay. I like the timing system because it allows a swing of momentum, you can just hold and swing away, leads to tougher matches against the top players. The dropshot is awful and nearly impossible to make effecting during a match. I can't think of a time where I even tried to use it.Worst- Scoring during the matches... during your career the matches (before you are a pro) are only 1 set 3 games. I hated it. You couldn't get into the match at all when you were just starting out, you break serve and its pretty much over before you know it. When you turn pro it goes to 2 sets 3 games each and a super tiebreak to decide the winner which is better but I would like to see 6 games per set. I know it would be longer but makes it way better.Other than those few problems I have with the game which even if someone told me about I would still have gotten the game because the I love the gameplay, and is by far the best game for tennis out there. Closing thing to the real stuff without looking like an arcade game. Its worth playing because once you do get better at timing it is alot of fun!Do buy and enjoy!
