Attractive and Functional
I replaced my knobbies with a set of Panaracer Pasela after extensive consideration. I was hung up on looks during my search, but I did not want the right look at the expense of quality. I wanted a durable tire to replace my durable knobbies, but not durable at the expense of a light-weight tire. My bike is too heavy as it is. Discussions online were instrumental in my becoming educated over a couple of weeks and I encountered Panaracer Pasela. I bought them on a Friday and they arrived the very following Monday, and shipping was free! I got them put on just today, the day of arrival, and they are beautiful. They are beautiful and light and smooth and quiet. Old look to them with the fantastic gum-wall.

Classic, vintage look, but not the toughest tire around.
I've used these tires on a number of bikes in a number of sizes. The largest is 700x37. The picture shown above is the tread pattern for that tire. The tread pattern for this tire (700x35) is not the same - it is the standard tread pattern for the narrower tires such as the 700x28 (http://www.amazon.com/Panaracer-Pasela-Bicycle-Tire-Brown/dp/B0010VZGKC/ref=pd_sim_sg_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0AD059DWQSDSYTBGJ830). It doesn't matter terribly, just be aware of that.I have used these tires on all surfaces, and when I mean all, I mean ALL. From paved roads to gravel roads to off road. When going off road or very rough gravel, be sure to pump UP your tire - do NOT lower pressure for a softer ride because you will likely pinch flat when you hit a rock, root or pothole. The sidewalls do not hold up to pinch flats and tear easier than full black-wall tires. That being said, this is a perfect tire for the average person who just wants a classic look on a bike to ride around town or out on decent gravel roads.

I love these tires. Luxo Smooth ride
These tires are fantastic. They just ooze quality. The sidewalls are very supple. They mounted easily by hand. The difference in ride is apparent immediately. The gumwall is definately of a higher quality than the junk tires they replaced. The only caveat regarding these tires is that for the first week or so they pick up every tiny tiny rock in the tread, but strangely, they quit doing it after a week or so.

Excellent All Around Tire
I have gone through several pairs of these tires in varying widths and their performance is excellent (my favorite are the 35c's). They provide an excellent quality ride over varied surfaces and do well in the rain. I have tried other tires and I always come back to these tires. They have been popular with the touring crowd for many years and for good reason. They have an excellent value to performance ratio compared to the Schwalbe tires which are supposed to perform as well or better, but are so much more expensive. I highly recommend them.

Inferior quality at a premium price
I was really excited to try these Paselas for their light weight and presumed versatility. Unfortunately the clincher wire on my front tire detached from the sidewall for at least inches, leading to two different tubes popping. In retrospect, I should have read more reviews before purchasing-- this seems like a common problem with Paselas. If this happened while I was cruising downhill at 25 mph I could have REALLY hurt myself. Someones quality control is garbage and now I find my time, effort and money wasted having to return this product. Niagara should replace my tire (without my having to make a trip to UPS) AND at least one tube.In short, buy something else! Even my experience with cheapo Kendas have been better than this.

Good
Tires seem fine only about 20miles will update when more miles are put on.Update:After putting about 300 miles the tires roll with little resistance and have lots of grip and are relatively light and easy to install. The tan sidewall can get a litlle dirty.

Return shipping label paid by customer
Couldn’t return the tires because the shipping had to be paid by me and it was as much as the tires. Make sure you like them otherwise you’re stuck with them. Tires are ok but this vendor needs to let us know the shipping is on us.

No es lo que esperaba
La compré por la oferta pero la empecé a usar 1 mes después de la compra y en menos de un mes ya se había dañado, me decepciono

Perfect for a smaller touring bike
Bought this to build a gum-wall touring bike for a 5'2" friend, 700c rims where a bit too large and we didn't have frame clearance for standard width 26" tire. This tire provides good traction and holds up over distance bike-packing

Pretty tires. Made in Japan.
I love this old school tires. The gumwall stripe accentuates the looks of the tire. So far I am racking up miles and see if how many miles it will hold up. It is made by Panasonic in Japan, so it expectantly will solidly perform.
