Works Well, Smells Good!
I didn't expect to use this product until winter to protect my dog's paws. But he's having a very itchy summer. He's been chewing on his paws something fierce all summer long like never before. He did see the vet a month ago and got a shot for his allergies and while he had some improvement since getting the shot, he's still chewing/licking away. Two days ago, he tore a bit of the black padding on his paw off from licking/chewing. Of course doing so made him lick/chew even more! My first instinct was to put some hydrocortisone cream on it but then I decided not to as he would lick it off and I didn't want him to ingest it. Instead, I first cleaned the area well with soap and water and then applied some of the Smart Kitty/Smart Fido vitamin E cream to his paw. The cream has a nice, light scent. It reminds me of the scent of suntan lotion. It applied easily to his foot and I continued to clean the area and reapply twice a day for the past 2 days. The injury is almost gone entirely. He doesn't mind when I apply it either. He made an attempt to lick it off the first time I applied it, but I didn't let him. Each time I apply it, I stay with him for at least 15 minutes to give it a chance to dry and work and prevent him from licking it off. This worked very well for him. I haven't used it on the cats yet but of course will do so if/when its needed. I'm very happy with the results after using this on Mac's paw, along with soap/water!

Good for moisturizing keratosis paws
Ok, let's start by asking if this is for dogs or cats? The wording really needs to be fixed, but I think ultimately you can use for both. I would never recommend using on a pet that licks incessantly as it is not good for them to ingest that, but it won't be anything that will be harmful unless it is constant. We like this, but we have a bit of a different situation. Our dog has keratosis. In case you aren't familiar - it is when they grow spiky little growths on their nose and paws. We are working on the why behind our dog's condition, but in the interim they recommend keeping her paws really moist and supple and trimming off the excess growth to keep her from ripping her paw open and also from it becoming irritated. This product is very good for that and does keep her paws moisturized. I don't know if I would use it to form a protective barrier against the elements or life. It is very easily absorbed or rubbed off and thus doesn't really provide a barrier. For us this works great, but again it depends on your need. For keratosis it keeps the paw really soft and you can easily trim. Good deal in this house!

Moisturizing, but it’s essentially Vaseline
This paw product is very confusing, it is advertised as a product for dogs, but everywhere it reads it’s for cats! The seller I’m assuming is not very literate or is trying to get a bigger clientele. They should just re-label this to avoid confusion. That being said, I own 3 dogs, therefore I decided to give this product a try. I live in sunny California, so this is the environment it was tested on, I cannot attest to cold temps. We hike hills and trails and also walk the dogs on concrete sidewalks. Sometimes I’ve noticed the dogs paws look cracked, and I’m always concerned that the sidewalk may be too hot to walk on with their bare feet, and they do not like booties. This product doesn’t have a scent, which was good. It had an oily consistency rather than sticky. It seemed to hydrate their paws and leave them shiny, however, it rubbed off.Honestly I do not see the difference in using this from using vaseline, it seemed to be the same thing and for a much lower cost.

Science Says Yes
The science behind getting vitamin E on the cats paws is solid, no doubts there. The petrolatum wax seems like a great carrier agent, and should add more overall moisturizing protection to the paws. The scent is pleasant, Miss Emma didn't seem to mind the scent or the feel of the product. However, if your cat is as resistant as Semi-Feral cat is to having her feet gooped, this might be a tough sell.I will say, the two feet I was able to get done, look much better after the application, and the run to the ER to get stitches in the two wide slashes she gave me wasn't a total waste of time, mostly.

Good basic soothing agent for pad scrapes and burns.
Works good on scrapes. It's a petroleum product that's a soothing agent for scrapes and burns. It's not going to protect your dog's poor toes on hot pavement. It MIGHT help them feel better after they've been burned. Works like aquaphor and similar.

Works great
My dog has allergies to the grass in the spring, which irritates his feet and then causes him to nibble on the pads. That often leads to red and raw spots. This balm works great for helping prevent the itching and chewing. I put it on his feet right after we get inside from being out in the yard. It keeps him from getting too itchy and it must be offering relief b/c since we started using this, he's completely stopped chewing on his feet after we come in. It's nice and thick and stays on a good amount of time.

Decent, but really only two ingredients.
Even though I recieved this product for free, this is my honest opinion and experience with this product. This is for some reason marketed towards dogs and cats, but it's a simple product. It is really only Vitamin E and Petrolatum Wax. The product is made in the USA so bonus their to support products made right here. It doesn't stain carpets and takes good care of small paws of pumps, and kitties a like. Great for when it starts to get hot out and you need to protect your fluffs paws.It is a good product and does a decent job on protecting against a hot surface. But their are better products available for the price.

Decent Paw Balm
Eh, it's decent paw balm, but I'd really only use it if your cat has had continues paw pad issues. It's good for scuffs or burns and basically acts like a moisturizer, or think of it as a lotion that we put on our own hands when they are dry or cracked. Cats are picky and can be temperamental when messing with their paws, as you know, so good luck putting it on and getting your cat to leave it alone.
