Perfect replacement for Dell 5584
This part solved the problem I had with the power adapter socket. Detailed instructions for replacement are available on-line from Dell (see service manual for your model number). A YouTube video shows a much simpler repair procedure than listed in Dell's service manual. I think different variations of parts might be possible even though the laptops all share the same model number. Also, the replacement of the wireless modem antenna wires during reassembly can try your patience. Just keep trying.You might consider what else needs replacing inside since you have to remove the bottom cover. New battery, or coin battery, or add memory, or replace the fan?

This piece component's quality sucks!
I bought the jack last May in 2024. Then it stops working in early Feb of this year with no light on when the machine is being charged. As a result, it caused me the whole day to figure out why my machine cannot be booted up.

No issues
Shipped and arrived quickly. No installation issues, functionality perfect. I have replaced this jack 3X, the female opening wears and reduces connectivity, hence stops charging. This is the first "DC power jack" from these folks, I hope this one is the end of this problem. No, I will NOT send the laptop to Dell even though it is under warranty. Don't want to wait a month for something I can replace in 30 minutes. Definitely will try Zahara again for parts.

Failed and Broke in 60 Days
I have a bachelor's in computer engineering and work on computers in my spare time. I am knowledgeable with computers to say the least.This charging jack was installed professionally a week after purchase.It failed 2 months later. The charging port stopped lighting up and the computer no longer charged. This is a huge headache, and I am very annoyed.
