Perfect for scale model painting.
A few reviews here complain of this air compressor overheating if run continuously for 20 minutes which is entirely correct, it will overheat if run continuously because it was not designed to do so.I bought this to replace a compressor I had owned about 10 years that was virtually identical this unit but without the reserve tank, and as long as you held the airbrush spray button down the motor would run, it was not over noisy but the idea of a reserve tank holding 3 litres seemed a good idea.It is, if like myself you spray a small area at a time on 1/35 tanks etc you can mostly use the your air-brush from the stored air with the motor kicking in briefly and occasionally to keep the reserve tank topped up which is nice, much less noise. If you do larger models such as 1/16 tanks which I also do you will exhaust the reserve 3 litres quite quickly and the motor will be running more often.Even on large 1/16 kits I have never had this compressor shut down due to overheating but these things do get hot to the touch which can seem alarming but is quite normal. It has plenty of safety features such as a thermal cut-out and comes with. a moisture trap which is essential to avoid disappointment when finishing a model and a great splat of water shoots from the gun and ruins it.Upon first starting I was indeed impressed at how quiet it was but I am sure that the 2nd time I started it, it was a bit noisier, a slight metallic rattle that had not been there there initially. In hindsight I wish I had checked it with a decibel meter then I would be sure, it is not distracting and was not worth returning it but I am fairly sure that something changed.I mainly use a Harder & Steenbeck air-brush at about 15 psi and this runs perfectly, no surging or loss of pressure, it keeps a continuous smooth air flow going for even paint application.I have probably used it for about 100 hours in total by now and everything is still fine, any increased noise has not got worse and of course I could be wrong anyway, maybe my ears cleared a bit the 2nd time running.I paid £79.99 in 03/23 which was a very good price, it will never be as good as an Iwata or other similar top end models but it is a quarter of the price yet I would still recommend it for its intended purpose which is small scale air-brushing, nail art etc.Excellent little compressor and always remember to drain the tank after use to prevent internal rust forming in the tank.

Great beginner option!
I did a lot of research before embarking on my airbrush journey, and very pleased i purchased this. Quick delivery, works well, and super quiet. Great for the beginner!

Great little compressor!
I'm new to airbrushing so I was looking for a quiet, smaller version of my garage compressor, that could be used indoors, and was reasonably priced. It's early days, but so far I'm very impressed by the performance of this compressor. What I like:1. It REALLY is quiet.2. Compact size.3. Mechanical pressure release valve on the tank.4. Fitted with a regulator/water filter5. Fan cooled motor6. Solid build7. Good consistent air delivery (so far I haven't had to wait for compressor to catch up with my usage)What could have been better:1. Tank drain valve was stupidly tight.2. The regulator was bleeding air and required "fixing" (Very easy. No tools required). Before I fixed the regulator the machine wouldn't reach it's cut off pressure (subsequently tested at 4 bar), and after about 20 mins it did get a bit hot. Nothing excessive, just don't expect the fan to keep the unit completely cool. Since fixing the regulator it hasn't reach the same temperature.

A solid little airbrush compressor
It compresses air and delivers it, not much more to say really about the basic functions. It is quiet for a compressor - our dishwasher makes more noise. The only problem is the lack of instructions for the regulator. To operate it you pull up the black knob then turn anti-clockwise to increase the pressure fed to the airbrush. If you open the regulator valve with nothing connected the regulator gauge will not show pressure and the tank will take ages to fill, if it ever does. That is how all compressors work and is perfectly normal. The piston housing does get quite warm, but the tank means that it isn’t running all the time at working pressures at the brush below around 30psi so the thermal trip doesn’t kick in. I’ve used it for hours at a time, with the motor only running briefly once in a while (airbrushing at around 20psi).The water trap is effective enough and no moisture appears to get past it, and the tank doesn’t collect much water at current UK temperatures and humidity either.Overall good value for the money if used for the intended purpose.

Great compressor
I figured out that most of the noise comes from the keyring type pull tab on the pressure release. I've taped mine up and on the rare occasion it comes on to recharge the pressure it is seriously quiet. Absolutely perfect for airbrushing the minis you might get around to painting in 18 months.

Great compressor
It’s really good for a fantastic price. I checked a lot of reviews where people had been using it for over a year with no issues. It does get a warm if you use it a lot, but that’s the heat sink that gets warm which pulls the heat away from the unit, so it’s not an issue or a reason not to buy this. I love it. It

Quiet and reliable
I used this compressor for an airbrush to change the colour of my corner suite. The paint used was special water based leather paint as well as using it for the top spirit based top coat/sealant.It worked well and was easy to set at the pressure that I wanted it to run at.The only downside was I had to source an adapter to connect my airbrush to it as the airbrush hose was a smaller size than the outlet connector but this was probably an issue with my airbrush and not the compressor. It ran quietly and automatically stop and started to maintain the set pressure. I was pleased with the results.
