Perfect for scale model painting.
A few reviews here complain of this air compressor overheating if run continuously for 20 minutes which is entirely correct, it will overheat if run continuously because it was not designed to do so. I bought this to replace a compressor I had owned about 10 years that was virtually identical this unit but without the reserve tank, and as long as you held the airbrush spray button down the motor would run, it was not over noisy but the idea of a reserve tank holding 3 litres seemed a good idea. It is, if like myself you spray a small area at a time on 1/35 tanks etc you can mostly use the your air-brush from the stored air with the motor kicking in briefly and occasionally to keep the reserve tank topped up which is nice, much less noise. If you do larger models such as 1/16 tanks which I also do you will exhaust the reserve 3 litres quite quickly and the motor will be running more often. Even on large 1/16 kits I have never had this compressor shut down due to overheating but these things do get hot to the touch which can seem alarming but is quite normal. It has plenty of safety features such as a thermal cut-out and comes with. a moisture trap which is essential to avoid disappointment when finishing a model and a great splat of water shoots from the gun and ruins it. Upon first starting I was indeed impressed at how quiet it was but I am sure that the 2nd time I started it, it was a bit noisier, a slight metallic rattle that had not been there there initially. In hindsight I wish I had checked it with a decibel meter then I would be sure, it is not distracting and was not worth returning it but I am fairly sure that something changed. I mainly use a Harder & Steenbeck air-brush at about 15 psi and this runs perfectly, no surging or loss of pressure, it keeps a continuous smooth air flow going for even paint application. I have probably used it for about 100 hours in total by now and everything is still fine, any increased noise has not got worse and of course I could be wrong anyway, maybe my ears cleared a bit the 2nd time running. I paid ยฃ79.99 in 03/23 which was a very good price, it will never be as good as an Iwata or other similar top end models but it is a quarter of the price yet I would still recommend it for its intended purpose which is small scale air-brushing, nail art etc. Excellent little compressor and always remember to drain the tank after use to prevent internal rust forming in the tank.

Rumpy pumpy spraying machine!
Easy to setup and adjust. It's quiet - ish, not quite as thudding as my old compressor, but far from silent That said, for the money, it's very good value. I've not used it over hugely extended times, but it has remained cool. The 3L tank maintains decent pressure, the pump only kicking in when needed. It's a hefty, solid lump, and does what it says on the tin, For 80 notes, it's not too shabby, if just a smidgin noisier than I'd like, but It's something I can live with.

Decent bit of kit
Been in use a few times now, all in all it looks and feels like decent bit if kit, pressure adjustment appears to be accurate and easy to adjust. It is fairly quiet which exceeded expectation. I use for spray painting models so it does not run for long periods so have not encountered any overheating problems. In summary a decent bit if kit for a fair price, I would recommend

A solid little airbrush compressor
It compresses air and delivers it, not much more to say really about the basic functions. It is quiet for a compressor - our dishwasher makes more noise. The only problem is the lack of instructions for the regulator. To operate it you pull up the black knob then turn anti-clockwise to increase the pressure fed to the airbrush. If you open the regulator valve with nothing connected the regulator gauge will not show pressure and the tank will take ages to fill, if it ever does. That is how all compressors work and is perfectly normal. The piston housing does get quite warm, but the tank means that it isnโt running all the time at working pressures at the brush below around 30psi so the thermal trip doesnโt kick in. Iโve used it for hours at a time, with the motor only running briefly once in a while (airbrushing at around 20psi). The water trap is effective enough and no moisture appears to get past it, and the tank doesnโt collect much water at current UK temperatures and humidity either. Overall good value for the money if used for the intended purpose.

Good bit of kit!
I had a long spraying session today and the compressor works just fine. It takes about 1 minute 20 seconds to fill the tank from start up and will automatically switch off (unless the hose is leaking...ask me how I know?). I got around 20 seconds of spray time before the compressor kicked then it was running continuously throughout the session, automatically stopping a minute or so after the session ended. The top of the piston head did get quite warm but nothing that I was concerned with. For the price it seems OK but we'll see after a few months of use as my Iwata Smart Jet lasted some 20 odd years.

Decent piece of kit for the money
Seems good so far only use it occasionally on small projects, tank tops up quick but also empties quick, it tops up whist using so for me not much of an issue. Still reasonably quiet but have noticed a slight increase in volume. Reasonably priced am happy with my purchase

Didn't work
I have only given this one star as it stopped working on the second use. Worked fine the first time, went to use it the following day and it wouldn't work, pressure gauge didn't work and the air wasn't going into the tank. I returned it for a refund but after 14 days it still hadn't been received back to Amazon centre, and was showing lost in transit. After contacting customer service twice, I was eventually issued a refund.
