Great standalone patch panel
This was used to patch cat 6a RJ45 cables fed from house to garden office cabin and to internal cabin network points, the great thing is this is a small unit and fits perfectly in the media wall cupboard alongside a gigabit switch. Was unaware that these existed as normally work with large data cabinets with 19” panels. Needed this quickly and could have saved a couple of quid if bought elsewhere. Installation was a breeze and didn’t take long.

Good quality with grounding wire
I needed a small patch panel to terminate a mix of Cat7 and Cat5 cables that run to the back of my AV cupboard. Because I have Cat7 in the wall I wanted a patch panel that would enable me to ground the shielding properly.I'm getting a stable 1Gb through this. I needed to buy a better punch-down tool to make sure that the solid cores in my Cat7 cable terminated properly. I originally used a cheap old plastic punch-down tool that has been fine for Cat5 over the years but it didn't terminate the solid cores properly and limited the speed to 100Mb.

Seems to work well.
I Was adding some cat6a runs to an existing installation, while there was space on the existing patch pannel, it was only a 5e pannel and I didn’t want to replace the lot.Instead added this - bolted to a 1u shelf to hold it in the rack. It’s worked well, giving the bit of shielded cat6a capacity I needed without the cost and effort of replacing and re terminating the entire rack.

Can't fault it - good little unit
Used this in my home network - so far, so good. Nicely made, and fits perfectly in a 10" SOHO unit. Does what it does, and I can't fault it. You'll need to have a punch-down tool to wire into the back.Little explanation of what a Patch Panel is for people who might be unsure (like I was originally):A Patch Panel is an unpowered row of female RJ45 jacks - it is simply where the other end of the cables you've connected into wallsockets go. For example, say you wire an Ethernet socket in the living room, the cable will run from the living room back to the Patch Panel. From there, you can plug it into a network switch.
