Clean, dry orchid potting mix.
Good orchid potting mix - clean and dry. It handles easily when repotting. Store it properly and it will stay fresh. I have bought it twice now and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. It was a good deal for the price.

Great for my orchid so far!
As you can see from the pictures, my orchid is happy and healthy with buds ready to bloom. Once per week, I fill up the outer pot and inner container my orchid is in with water and let it sit for awhile (30 min-1 hr). This gives the potting mix and orchid roots (in the inner container) an opportunity to soak up the water. Then I drain the inner container and pour out the remaining water from the pot. I put the container with the orchid and potting mix back into the bigger pot and put her back by the window. This potting mix has very good drainage and so far, my orchid loves it!Update 8/21: you can see by the new picture just how much my orchid is loving this potting mix! I have two blooms and I am ecstatic! I still follow the watering process I outlined already, and might spray some water on the roots once per week. Otherwise I rub her leaves and tell her how gorgeous she is and that’s it. Once you figure out what your orchid likes, stick to that and DO NOT change it up. They’re not an easy plant to maintain so if you’re lucky enough to have an orchid that is still alive and blooms yearly, kudos to you. This is my FIRST orchid I haven’t killed.

is too much aeration a thing?
New to orchids but recently repotted mine after 1.5yrs. of having it; so take this with a grain of salt.I followed a YouTube video (miss orchid girl or something similar) and she recommended this brand.I did everything accordingly, but I am pretty sure this isn’t keeping my plant hydrated, at least like I expected. Whenever I water it, it basically goes right through it to the bottom. It seems to be too big of chunks and makes it so there is too much aeration, which means it doesn’t hold water well.Already it’s been two weeks but I can tell my plant is doing worse. I am going to try and water it more bc hopefully that will help it. I know orchids can be overwatered easily, and before I repotted it I didn’t have to water it much at all, butttttttt maybe I need to get used to watering it every other day now.I don’t know and I’m sad.Product arrived in good shape. The mix didn’t have bugs or anything creepy going on, and it smelled good (fresh and earthy).Other than it seeming like it doesn’t hold onto any water at all, I have no issues with it.

works great for my phalaenopsis orchids
I have a collection of phalaenopsis orchids that came to me at various times in less than stellar condition. All of them are happily growing in this media! When I repotted them, I first soaked them in filtered water for 30 minutes to soften the roots. Then I removed every bit of old media from the roots and cut off any dead ones. I then carefully put the roots into the new pot and gently poured the bark around the roots. I recently repotted a few that I planted in this media two years ago, and none of the bark stuck to the roots. None of the bark had rotted. I soak my orchids once a week, and these bark chips seem to hold just enough moisture and dry out well each week. Oh yes, and several of my orchids have rebloomed after repotting.

Awesome mix for orchids!!!
This product is fantastic! I was very happy with it!I needed some high quality substrate components for my orchids. I keep phalaenopsis, oncidium, paphiopedilum, and many more exotic kinds. Some of them needed repotting this spring. I have epiphytes and terrestrial orchids. Every orchid I have is in a unique mix that is optimized to give each plant the correct amount of air, moisture, and nutrients. Some of my orchids are grown semi-hydro style, potted in solely LECA (in gravel form, Turface). But not all of them do well in that medium, which is where this potting mix comes in.I like to use: bark, moss, lava rock, coconut chips, charcoal, turface, sometimes perlite, all in different combinations. This product provides exactly the amounts of: Bark, Rock, Coconut, and Charcoal that I need for my mixes. All of the pieces are appropriately sized for Phalaenopsis and even Oncidium orchids. If you live in a very humid place, or like to water a lot, or have an epiphytic orchid that needs to dry out fast, this is the only product you'll need for repotting. However, I add other things to make it work in my drier environment.I buy high grade New Zealand sphagnum moss, because most of my orchids need some of it in the mix, and also Turface (gravel LECA), for added water retention and also aeration. In the picture I uploaded this mix is in the center, with other orchid medium around it.

Very wet
This potting mix was so wet I thought it might be / get moldy. I did like the mixture composition. I hope I didn’t pay for the weight wet.
