Probably better to avoid Clore Automotive products...
Clore Automotive JNCXF jump pack ...the evening I received it , I followed the instructions and attempted to charge it . Not sure what was faulty , but after 24 hours of charging and checking the unit , the gauge did not show any indication that it had charged , and there was never any sound like a barely audible hum that the unit was charging . I finally gave up the next afternoon . Another issue also is Clore Automotives customer service . I called for 2 days , never got an answer at either their tech line or customer service line ...unbelievable . Also , after reading more reviews on Amazon and EBay , it seems these JNC units have a horrible track record of failure out of the box or within a short time of initial use , and my experience with their non existent customer service seems to be common also . Its unfortunate , because they are a nicely designed unit , but it seems their quality across all models is predictably very poor , and the Clore organization is unresponsive to customers . I had to contact Amazon customer service to file a complaint against the company , and within a day I received a PDF return label from Clore Automotive . After returning the package to UPS , I did some more searching ,off site and internet wide and found several similar type jump units by other manufacturer's that while sold by Amazon , do not come up as a result in a general search . I settled on a unit by Associated Equipment ....by the reviews on other vendor websites , it seems that this Associated jump box is a solid and dependable unit ...we will see .

Seems fine, a warning though, on mine the handles fell apart.
This is a "no frills" unit for the price. I've had it for several years now. It does not have an LED indicator so you can't peek across the garage from a distance to see if its plugged in or fully charged. It also does not have a USB power connection (it does have a 12v power receptacle, however). I use it mostly to jump start my lawn tractor out in the shed and, on one occasion, my boat and it seems to work fine. A warning though, the only problem is that (on mine) the halves of the handles came apart as the plastic ages/warps because they are only attached by snapping over small plastic protrusions. If you snap them back together (tough fighting the spring) they quickly come apart again at an inopportune and potentially dangerous time. At this price point, I would expect better. I drilled 1/4" holes and installed nonconductive 1/4-20 nylon screws/washers/capnuts through the entire handle and all is fine.

Quite the Beast!
I have purchased 4 different units that were to perform the same task as this one....some that even claimed to have a lot of power. The only thing that I can now say for them is that they were a whole lot cheaper (and lighter!) than this beast. If you want to be able to start anything at -10 and know the unit wont fail you spend the money and get quality like this.....

We have one in each vehicle
Two years ago coming home from a family vacation, we found our Expedition dead in the airport parking lot. Because the lot was crowded, there was no way to get jumper cables to reach the battery. The parking lot attendant brought a Jump-N-Carry by Clore Automotive. It was the blue one. Within seconds he had our truck running. I had never seen a jump starter in action before. I was amazed. I immediately perceived the advantage over jumper cables. After research on Amazon I purchased this model because it was made in America, had the most CCA in a single battery starter, and was slimmer than the others. It lives in the cargo area of my wife's SUV. We have used it to start our truck twice. I also used it to start a friends car who's battery died while she was shopping at Target. It has worked very well every time. My wife tried to use it once and wasn't able to make it work. That was my fault, because I didn't teach her how to use it correctly. We had a training session and now she feels comfortable using it. I even noticed that they have instructions on how to use it printed on the back of the unit while I was charging in the other day.I like that she won't have to ask anybody for help for battery dies. I liked it so much I just bought another one for my truck. One other thing that I find incredibly useful are the email reminders to charge the unit every three months. When I first read in the instructions they recommended recharging it every three months, I despaired of ever being able to remember. Then I noticed the card that said Clore would send email reminders if I registered my charger. It's a small thing, but it helps me remember, and I like that too. Now I know it will always be ready if I need it.

Downgraded after failure occurred
***************************update: 20171120***************************The battery pack is dead. Not even 3 years old and dead. At this price, you would expect more. I only used it 3 times to start a V8 and although flawless this product has a quality issue. One should expect more service than 2 1/2 years and only 3 uses.I called Clore Automotive and they told me it would cost $200+ for a replacement. WHAT!!! The customer service person was not very helpful and stated multiple time that she did not do "online" stuff when I asked where I could get a new battery to install in it.I have down graded to a 2 star because it did jump a dead battery on a 1995 530i BMW v8 but failed the quality expectation at this cost.***************************Purchased: 20150315:***************************Use it twice to jump a large V8 and without fail started the car both times.I would recommend this product.I have a power station ps2 and it's worthless on V8s.

I realized it would be a good idea have a portable jump starter
After getting stranded recently with a dead battery, I realized it would be a good idea have a portable jump starter. I did a lot of research and read many reviews of different products, then decided to go with the JNCXF. I have no regrets, this thing is well built. I also purchased a Pelican 1440 case for it, so this will probably last me forever.

Less than two years and it no longer works.
Worked great for about 1.5 years. Then the charger went out in it. Connected to a battery tender charger now the batteries seem to be completely dead. Purchased Nov, 2016 quit working July 2018. Did not last two years seems like a short life span for something this expensive.
