Buy the green one
Sharp blade, feels sturdy, and the assisted open feature is pretty easy to use, although it seemed tight the first few times I used it. If you want the regular black one, I recommend ordering the one labeled “green.” The picture for that one still shows it as black, and I did indeed receive a black-handled knife, but for some reason it’s much cheaper. I ordered one black and one green and can’t tell the difference.

This knife is excellent. You have to work it for it to ...
I am no expert on pocket knifes, but after Allison Barrie's commentary on Fox's Fire Power regarding this knife (which I agreed with )and watching various YouTube (which I didn't agree with..). This knife is excellent. You have to work it for it to loosen up, but I find it a fantastic knife. The blade is forged in different metals and after reading up on that, I choose the S30V variant which comes in fine edge only over the 420HC. Well-balanced, and not hard to look at either. I have no problem with the clip, but if I did, I could remove it. I like the weight and feel as well. not too lite and not too heavy. The "US-Assist" is crisp and clean. Well done Gerber !!!

Great American Knife
Honestly. I love this knife. Lost my first one. Can’t live without it so I bought another. Stays sharp. Mechanically smooth and perfect. Love the assisted opening and even more the blade release to close it. Makes one-handed closes less exciting . . . and bloody. Buy AMERICAN, the job you save may be your own!

Not a quality knife.
I’m a big gerber fan. I finally decided to drop the money on a S30v knife... the blade on this is a good size, and its a great steel choice for under $100.That is where it stops. The plunge lock sometimes wont lock or unlock and requires both hands. The clip became very loose after a 12hr shift a work. The blade wiggles. The clip is uncomfortable in my handsMy Bear Grylls AO (gerber knife) had all the same features, has 0 issues (i own 2) and was $20This is a huge drop in quality and design. Why are my low tier gerber knives better than my top?

Fit for a family mans EDC needs.
I'm putting together my EDC package and this Gerber knife fits my EDC needs perfectly!BLADE LENGTH: This knife has at least a 3 inch blade and it has open-assist for single handed operation. Less than 3 inches is just too small for many tasks and longer that 3.7 inches is just too large for comfort carrying. I really like the 3 inch length for the daily tasks I put it through. I was looking for a blade that is between 3 and 3.4 inches.MY PROFESSION: I'm an event production company and we cut tape, string, rope, random plastic and break down cardboard boxes often. The 420HighCarbon strength steel will stay sharp for my needs.OPEN ASSIST: The one handed deploy-ability is fantastic. I can quickly, with one hand, open the blade to a snapping fixed position and also with one hand press the lock button to release the blade and close the knife. In the event of an attack, blocking with one arm and deploying my blade is very easy to do. You may be holding your baby in one arm, and deploying the knife in the other arm. For my EDC standards, open assist ease was a legit criteria that helped me choose this knife. Other than open assist like this knife, you would looking at a spring loaded ejection of the blade.
