Cheap knock off
I give 2 stars because I WAS able to program my 2018 F150 trailer brake controller.However upon accessing other programmable modules, errors popped up and this item is not capable of programming them because it is a cheap China knock off of the real ELM327.Specifically upon connecting this device to my OBDII port, FORscan tells me to make sure the HS/MS switch is set to HS. I did this but it wouldn’t find all the modules. Upon troubleshooting I found that I had to have it set initially to MS. After FORscan searched for modules and found some, it asked me to switch it to MS. Instead I switched it from MS to HS and it worked.TL;DR: the MS and HD switch seem to be reversed.

Works as expected.
I'm using this with an Android head unit in my car. The head unit limited Bluetooth support forced me to try a USB version. This seems to do the job and does fast communication with the 2000 firebird PCM I'm using in my LS1 swapped car.It's a bit large and I wish the toggle switch was low profile or even a recessed jumper.Using torque app with this it works but I wish the baud rate was more standard.

Compatible with my 2018 F-150,has a HS and MS Can switch
Compatible with my 2018 F-150. It was inexpensive has a HS and MS Can switch and allowed me to program my Trailer Brake Controller myself. I needed Forscan to do it but with the program and this adapter I can change all kinds of stuff like daytime running lights, dark car light profile, and the seatbelt reminder. If I where more advanced it would let me do even more.

Works great for my Ford remote start.
I used the ELM 327 to activate the remote start feature on my 11' F-150 and my sister in law's 14' F-150. Worked great using the Forscan program. It saved us both money.

Doesnt give steady connection
It creates spotty connection. Ant hold the connection. My mechanic told me it's due to cheap chips built in the cable. I returned it.
