Braun SI7066VI Steam Iron [Energy Class A]

This iron is brilliant & great for steaming & not heavy . My daughter had one & after using hers I bought my own.

There's no mention in product information about having to use 50/50 distilled water /tap water if you live in a hard water area. But don't use 100% distilled water without any tap water. Over a few years of use having to buy distilled water can mount up... making it a dear buy! Hopefully it will prolong the life of the iron. The weight is good, not too heavy. Don't care for the position of the shot of steam button under the handle but will get used to it. It seems to iron okay- have only used it once so far to do cotton sheets, jeans t shirts etc... had to turn it up and use more steam for the sheets- but it did a good job. For the price it's not bad value.

Great - especially as it switches itself off which is so helpful 🤭 . Sometimes when it has reached the desired temperature it makes a really loud click that makes me jump but apart from that all is good.

We bought this last July and today it broke ( my previous Iron lasted 10 years)

I needed an iron in a hurry because my previous one (less than 2 years old) caught fire! I browsed several makes/models up to about £40, but they all had a few seriously negative reviews among the good ones. Eventually I settled on the Braun, despite it costing roughly double what I usually pay for an iron. The Braun is in a different class altogether - didn't know ironing could be so different! I actually quite like ironing, but this makes it a whole new experience - love it! Glides soooo smoothly, huge water tank so you can get through quite a pile without refilling, extra long flex. Brilliant.I've only used it once, so can't speak for longevity, but so far I'd call it the best iron I've ever used by a long way.

I decided to splash out on a new iron for my wife as the old one was leaking and noisy. She has been using it weekly now for 6 weeks and swears it is the best iron she has had. It is light and irons the clothing and bedding in 1/2 the time the old one used to do, so I'm on her good books. Thankyou

It seems to work ok.

I've been using the iron for almost a month now, and so far so good. You only have to be careful the maximum temperature is really hot, it made a hole in my shirt.
