Guarded from the still too recent of a sting of abandonment, I was hesitant to taste what sat before me, in a can colored pink, though tempted by the silver written words “peach”; could “White Peach” pacify the void left behind by the discontinued satisfaction of the Peach Nectarine? Knowing that this too would come to a disheartened end by conclusion of summer due to the temporary timeline indicated by SUMMER EDITION, I cracked it open, smelling what teased as potential goodness. Nervously, I let the tilted can release its essence. After pause, I closed my eyed taking it in, suppressing what was once known to let this new flavor explore the taste buds. In good surprise, there was not an alarmingly overwhelming sweetness charging forward like other flavors – a definite good sign. A hint of what was yearned for, yet different enough for it to stand on its own. A reminder of once was with encouragement of adapting to the future. I withdraw my resentment for my lost love for my burgundy cylinder, to make room for the possibility of accepting something new. This florally and fruity flavor - White Peach – I welcome you.
