Q: Are these inserts? They're awdully floppy and would really need a stiffer outter shell to be able to effectively use it

This bucket has been used for several years as a water bucket for our ducks near Buffalo NY. (Think lots of temperature variations including freezing in the winter.) The built in flexibility keeps it from cracking or breaking. The sides support the water and the ducks who use the edge to catapult themselves into the container. Highly recommend this tub!

Q: What are the dimensions of the tub?

The tub is 16 1/2" across at the top tapering to 14" at the bottom and 7 1/2" deep.

Q: has anybody left this tub outdoors when temperature's below 32 degree? How does it hold? Does it crack?

These hold up very well in most temperatures. However, we haven't had snow, so not sure about that. I use one as a chicken water vessel. I've had mine for some time and temps have been as low as 20 degrees and as high as 114, never any issues.

Q: Due to the smell of the recycled rubber. can i keep goldfish or pond fish in this container? i want to setup a indoor small pond for the kids. thanks

I purchased the 6-6.5 gallon one. It has an Odor to it. You may wish to "air" it out for a week or so...but YES you could put 6 'small' goldfish in it (one per gallon). You can also get a small solar light to put near it so the kids can see the fish at night once in a while. I would NOT keep the light on them 24/7. You can also add a plant container of some sort. It will give your 6 fish a place to go. When it gets cold enough to freeze you can 'float' a light plastic bowl of some sort on the top of said 'pond'. When it stops snowing you can remove the bowl and see your fish again through the hole you made in the ice.
