My wife will be having hip surgery within the next couple of weeks. Because she won't be able to put any weight on that leg for at least 2 weeks, she'll be stuck either on the bed or on the couch during that time.What she wanted was a lap table that she can either put her laptop or kindle on. I like that this lap desk has a flip top that she will be able to angle up so she won't have to hold her kindle the entire time she's using it. The desk has a little lip on it so the top can be angled up and the kindle won't slide off.It's also wide and long enough for her laptop with her mouse.Then she can also have enough room for a plate, silverware, and a glass without the fear of one of the items falling off.She likes the small drawer that's on the side of the lap desk. She'll be able to store her phone or some other small items in it so she won't have to move around.We practiced with the lap desk with her being in the bed. Had no problem with height over her thighs. She said she might have a harder time with it if it was taller. Lap desks are suppose to be more on your lap. Not 6 inches above it.The legs don't lock open but, had no problems using it the way it was.Only downfall was that the small drawer doesn't have a way to stay closed when moving the desk. A small fold over clip would have been nice.Otherwise this a nice sturdy lap table. And it's nice looking too.

I love this! The style and color of the finish are great, matches my living room, so it's not an eyesore if I simply fold it and stash between the couch and end table. As a nursing student, I study around the clock. I'd propped items on makeshift supports in my lap for the last two years - effective except the pens, highlighters and correction tape were constantly falling off the end table or my laptop as I took notes. I finally decided to look at lap desks, which I'd not considered due to space and style and just not wanting more STUFF when I have a desk. When I looked into them, I was shocked at the pricing and discouraged by the appearances until I saw this item. It's not overly large, but it can hold my large laptop as well as a notebook or iPad on the side... and has a little drawer on the side to store pens... I love using this to hold a laptop or iPad with the on the AND very convenient SMALL SIDE DRAWER. The legs do not adjust in height but I don't mind that at all. I'm not a tiny person, I have plenty of room for my legs. Also useful to safely prop up laptop/iPad to watch videos, lectures, movies, presentations allowing me the freedom to move around my house while I continue to review or learn -- while I'm folding laundry for example. Another use? TV TABLE. Super convenient, exceptionally useful, great value, nice looking, sturdy - this is one of the top ten Items I suggest for a college student of any age.

I was in the market for one of these for a few weeks before I came across this one. Most of the ones I liked were weirdly expensive! But this one was a great price ($17.30 when I bought it), and was actually the same shade of wood as the furniture in my room, so it was an easy choice. Because it cost SO much less than other similar lapdesks, I expected it to be cheap and shoddy. I was not at all prepared for the high quality of this desk!It is real wood, it is sturdily built, and it works exactly as promised. There is very little that I would change, but there are a few things, which is why the 4 stars:1) The bar that keeps the laptop from sliding off is fixed, and ones I've used in the past were removable. Removable would be better.2) It is sturdy and heavy, yes, but HEAVY. I would probably go as far as to say TOO heavy. It really is a solid piece! Unfortunately, solid isn't always what you need when you need portable!3) This is the biggest deal to me, by far: The legs and the drawer do not lock into place at all. So when you fold it up to set aside, the legs swing back open. And though the drawer has a stopper that keeps it from falling out entirely, it does fall right open when you turn this desk on its side. For both of these issues, I plan to make some adjustments myself to keep these things mobile when I want to move them, but fixed when I don't want them to move. Though I think the fix will be fairly easy for me to accomplish, I feel like this is something they should have done on their end, and it would have saved me a lot of frustration so far!All in all, though, this is a great lapdesk for a great price! I am so glad I bought it that when I came here to write this review, I saw a "like new" one selling for a discount, so I bought it too, even though I don't even need a second one! But I am sure I will be happy to have it on-hand when the need arises.

Strong and sturdy table. It works very well especially for students who are more tight for cash , but need a place to work at. The adjustable angle for height is also really useful, I use it for angling my laptop when I do digital art. Overall, it’s sized well and quite strong. The drawer on the side is pretty small but other than that it’s a really good table.

Me encanta! Súper útil para trabajar con la computadora en el sillón, la cama, o simplemente para leer o comer algo a gusto en cama. Los materiales son resistentes y dan un aspecto elegante por el tono de los acabados. Debido a que las patitas se pliegan, no ocupa mucho espacio al guardarse y su cajoncito es un plus para lo que requieras tener a la mano.

A real wood product (not MDF), mine got shipped form Malaysia. Sturdy, comfortable height use it as a bed table or a lap desk.

Perfect, attractive and sturdy! It is currently a stylish tv stand on top of our dresser but as soon as we move house it's going to be used properly ;)
