New 9" slimline direct fit power brake booster. This top quality power brake booster is designed mount directly to your factory firewall. This power booster works great as a factory replacement or as an upgrade from manual to power brakes for vehicles with automatic transmissions. Note: If switching from manual to power brakes a power brake pedal is required.

1967-1970 Mustang booster for Automatics
This is the MBM PB9007. MBM is a distributor of aftermarket brake parts and kits for early muscle cars. All parts are reasonable priced but made in China. MBM will not sell directly but only to retailers such as Pirate Jack & Master Power Brake. At this time, Summit Racing does not sell this part by itself. No matter who is retailing this booster, its always this Chinese MBM PB9007. There are no other options for a new 9 inch booster.Positives - Boosted braking performance is very good. Nice, easy braking effort and a noticeable improvement over the factory booster. Occupies much less area under the hood and on the firewall. Painted matte black in a black engine compartment, you will hardly notice that it is there. The push rod into the master cylinder is adjustable.Negatives - The push rod into the master cylinder is adjustable but you have to remove the master cylinder to do it (see pic). There is no adjustment under the dash. There is a slight noise the bellows makes when braking. Barley noticeable when running. Not a big deal, but not a positive. This part requires slight modification to fit in a 1969/1970 Mustang. One bolt holding the booster to its mounting plate is too long by about 3/8 inch; making it hit the firewall on installation. Cut this excess length off with the nut still attached and it will fit fine (see pic). You may have to slightly enlarge your existing firewall hole. The booster's actuating rod and bellows requires a 2.20 inch; hole in the firewall. For my 1969 mustang, the booster changed the brake light switch closing distance. It was closed all the time turning the brake lights on. After several hours of playing with it, I had to delete the switch and use a Ron Francis SW-32 hydraulic brake light switch. Master Power Brake also retails this part as a kit (BM15214-1969-ford-mustang-bm) and they say due to manufacturing variations, it may be necessary to grind a small amount of material from the back side of the pushrod if the operation of the system will not allow the brake lamps to turn off.
