Works for what I needed it for
They advertised this to use for your own personal library - and I definitely have that. It took me a while to figure it out, but once I did, it works well for what I wanted to use it for. It connects to a pc easily, and does have good directions.

Works great right out of the box, no 3rd party software required
I connected the wireless USB receiver into my laptop and it worked right away, scanning the barcodes on all my books, and entering them into an excel spreadsheet. My only criticism is the audio, as it likes to talk and talk loudly. I would prefer it to be silent, but otherwise seems to work fine.
