It just needs a longer cord because it doesn’t work in the shade.
This runs great and really get good height for a fountain to be such a little thing. The only thing it is the solar panel has to be in direct sunlight all day long. Which is not bad, but I use it for a 27 gallon white cloud Mountain minnow pond in the summer. And I think next year I’m gonna buy a bigger solar panel and a much longer cord … I can say it works better than any of the other cheap rated or pumps solar I waste a lot of money on other ones not anymore. I could actually recommend this and I don’t normally do reviews, but I had to do one on this one now.

So far…so good!
It does not pay to buy the smaller solar fountains for larger birdbaths. I have a cement one and wanted to actually hear the water as it was sprayed and this one appears to be doing what it is supposed to do. I hope it continues serving the purpose.

Read the fine print!
I like the versatility of the attachments. The pump (i got the 6.5) has plenty enough strength to work for my little patio fountain. I only gave for stars because of the solar component... IT ONLY WORKS WHEN THE SUN IS OUT. Looks as the teeny fine print is critical. The solar panel doesn't "charge and hold". So when the sun goes behind a cloud, like today, the pump quits. It only pumps when the sun is shining on it. So if you want to enjoy your water feature at night - get something else.

Nice solar pump
Fountain works well in sun light. Still flows a little in cloudy weather.

To small for pond deeper then 6 inches
This is too in small for a pond unless it is 6 inches deep, needs longer hard tube to reach higher

A little work horse
Very strong water flow...glass solar panel is nice. Never used one before, what a difference in power from little plastic ones. i really like that the pump shuts off if there is no water. Happy with purchase. Will use this seller again for sure.
