Great little keyboard - essential for beginners
I got a Roland SH-01a and decided to get the K-25m with it and I am glad I did. This is a really nice little keyboard. It is well built and allows you to position your Roland Boutique synth in 3 positions (flat, slightly raised and about 45 degrees up). It has thick metal side panels. The bit that raises the synth feels a bit cheap but certainly does the job. They keys have a good touch and are velocity sensitive. It was a easy to install the synth using a strong latch system and a ribbon cable to make the connection.I highly recommend this keyboard if you intent to use this synth in performances or if you are planning to buy the SH-01A (or similar synth) as your first synth.

If you love 90s synths then your going to love the JD-08
The keys are really small so if you have large hands then buy a larger MIDI keyboard, but this little keyboard is very good for its size and well worth buying it, but a little bit expensive for such a little keyboard but the keys are very good and responsive the connection lead to connect the keyboard to a synth module is a bit awkward and again especially if you have large hands but I would highly recommend this little keyboard because since I bought it I have been having fun with it connected to my Roland JD-08.

Good product…..
This keyboard is specifically designed for the Roland Boutique series - I purchased it to go with my JX-08 and it’s ideal. All very neat and combining to form an overall unit. I had used one of my larger synthesisers to control the JX-08 via a MIDI cable, but I much prefer having this smaller keyboard - no trailing cables, much more portable etc! The keys work well, and for programming the JX they’re great. Some might find the limited octave range too limiting; it’s certainly not a grand piano, but that isn’t its purpose after all! One word of warning however - the ribbon connector cable at the back which links the boutique to the keyboard is very fiddly. I really struggled and wondered if I’d gone and ordered the wrong product! After a first attempt I noticed that I’d bent one of the connecting pins, thankfully fixed with, um, the end of a pair of scissors to bend it back in to alignment. So, although it’s fine now, do take care when connecting! The only other thing is the cost - ultimately this is very expensive. However, I’m pleased that I got it but it is very pricey! (Update: I’ve had this for about a month now and can thoroughly recommend!)

Handy piece of kit
I’ve got three boutique units, they are easy to swap in and out of the keyboard which is a blessing. The keys work well - they’re not weighted or anything, feel a bit springy, and of course they are small, but for its purpose they’re fine. The unit fits into my rucksack comfortably and is a great piece of kit to take if you’re away for the weekend etc.Glad I bought it

Perfect fit
Brilliant companion to the boutique range of keyboards. I have mine linked with an Roland SE-02 and it fits perfectly. The keyboard itself plays okey for a small range keyboard a little springy but it’s not really for performance more messing around. Too expensive in my opinion generally but at least it was a little cheaper on Amazon compared to other places at the time of purchase ( December 2021) overall nice convenient option.

Key stopped working, Roland not interested
Great unit for your boutique but key stopped working just after a year and only used it hand full of times. This is a common issue thus Roland not being interested in fixing.Stick to a midi keyboard. The old 'keys stop working' is a Roland thing from back in the 80's.My sys 1,alpha juno , w30, all great pieces and still work except the keys!!!!Sort it out Roland!!!! 😠
