1A Auto Headlights Headlamps Pair Set for Subaru Legacy GT Baja Outback

I recently ran into a quality issue with the right-front headlight assembly that i ordered. It installed well (Subaru Outback) and I was very happy with the results, UNTIL I took a long trip on a national holiday. I was shocked when a State Highway patrolman pulled us over (wife and I) and pointed out that all our car running lights were out, both front and rear. We had to overnight on the way to Washington DC. Upon our arrival, I had a local autoshop analyze the fault and it turns out that after multiple-fuses were tried and blown, the two bulbs in the front running light assembly were pulled completely. I have since replaced the bulbs and modular sockets, and all is well once again. But I now am faced with a service bill for the "repair" of this new unit sold to us, by AutoPartsGiant. ($130) The companies policy is have the item be returned and then issue a warranty replacement, but since I have already replaced the modular sockets and bulbs here, this is really a "salt in the wound" option to me. Had i simply had the local autoshop in town replace these, I would have been way-ahead of the game. So, what can I say? I really wanted to give this company a great rating, but I cannot. I drove an hour to install these on my sons car. 2004 Subaru Outback. I got a call at 10:00 last night that a friend was helping him get home because he had no taillights!! So today i drove another hour to pull the assembly out, because fuse number 5 was blowing taking out the parking lights. Sure enough like other reviews mentioned, the socket was faulty. Pisses me off that such crap is on the market and could cause harm to our loved ones. People be aware of this and keep your old sockets or better yet dont buy this no doubt overseas garbage!!!

Replacing the headlights on a 2004 Subaru Outback was a fairly simple process. The left side headlight assembly went in rather easily, with all of the plug electrical connectors sliding / snapping together without issue. The main headlight electrical connector on the right side proved to be a bit more of a challenge. This connector appeared to be a bit misshaped. Once we determined that all of the electrical pins were properly aligned, a bit of brute force was applied using slip-jaw pliers to force the connectors halves together. All of the lights in the assembly now work properly.

One year later, almost to the date, one headlight is leaking. Also had issue with the leveling system. One did fine but the other won't adjust at all. There maybe some user error or a factor defect regarding the latter but its a spare car and I have not given much attention. They do look great and fit perfectly.

The fit was above average for aftermarket, used a lot of non OEM capsules these slid in better than most. Problem came in a light socket terminal failure. If you are replacing the stock module if possible reuse the signal lamp sockets the OEM Quality is way better and the seller has no parts available, and never offered return or refund. Otherwise these are a 5 star compared to many available on the market and 20% of OEM price.

I don’t know what sheerness or thickness has to do with headlights. Sounds like a knife or maybe a sword. Perhaps I’m missing something.Anyway, after installing, the beams needed adjustment. Up and down adjusting went well but the passenger side was way out to the right. The side adjuster only allowed so much then acted like it was stripped. It would move a little but then slide back. I couldn’t get it all the way back to normal position. Very disappointed.
