Excellent price of kit
Very easy to use, works well on the first couple of tests on both the supplied 0.1 nickel plated strips and 0.15 nickel strips. A good weld in both cases with gear 5 and gear 7 used respectively. Very pleased with the welder

Reliability Capacitor Spot welder for making a ebike battery pack (Model P20B)
I brought 2 other units in 3 days, one for £30ish and second one for £69ish both would not charge the in built battery, it states in the manual to recharge the internal battery every 3 months, this is to stop the battery draining below the low voltage, otherwise the internal battery will not charge and so the unit wont work, this has not been done as the units are stored in the warehouse for months or even years, that is why most battery spot welders on Amason or elsewhere dont work on purchase. To Date:This is the first feedback for this unit(P20B), as all others are for the H1/MC1 and U3Pro, this unit is a super capacitor type(Which acts as internal Battery), this means you dont have to keep the capacitor charged often, therefor it can be stored for months or years without issues, capacitor charge quickly and has more output current.Has a mains power adapter for charging the super capacitor, the unit can be removed from mains power and i did unplug from the mains power and use the unit to spot weld approx 30 welds at 300 power setting(Max 999) and still showed over 50% charge left, unit is plastic with bright display.Unit comes with power adapter and UK power lead,2 meter welding strip, 4 replaceable copper tips,File, foot pedal and manual.Spot welder worked fine and can spot weld metal up to 0.8mm thickness.Cons: 1 only, the probe cable is very thick and is covered in a cable retention spiral covering, in my opinion you could short the cables together if the spiral covering comes apart to allow the unprotected copper cable to connect together.I did a quick remedy for this issue, i used self amalgamating tape and this fused to make one sealed flexible protection if the cables did get into contact, i also reinstalled the spiral cable protector on top and used self amalgamating tape on both ends of the spiral for cosmetic and extra protection, the spiral is used on most other makes of spot welders.Apart for the cable insulation or lack of it, i say it is worth the £199 i paid for it at full price.I am very picky about my tech and this one is now up to scratch. One last word, I hope it lasts, fingers crossed...Ebayrob.

Spot welder
Quality control, poor. Welder power low and cut out after one attempted weld

Why didn’t I have this before!!
Excellent bit of kit. Used it several times now with really pleasing results. Charge first before using. Definitely need a good test run on some old batteries, and write down the settings for what your doing then you can refer back to them. No more burnt plastic cases or poor soldering joints. Very pleased, wish I had one years ago!

This DIY battery spot welder is great.
It's a one hand operation. Just leave it set to auto.no messing around. It does exactly what it says it can do. What more can I say.I've replaced batteries in my shaver, torches, hot glue gun etc etc. Excellent 👍

Does the job
This unit successfully made a pack of alkaline calls for a project of mine. You will need to practice with technique and settings, but it does the job for the hobbyist.

Excellent for batteries
I had the handheld awithz welder and it was ok in emergencies. This one I bought as it had the same name.Damn excellent welder. Will melt through anything.I set preheat to 3, gear to 9 (though I’d say 7 upwards was enough for batteries). So easy to use , precise, quick and hopefully it’ll last a long time.
