Q: Why do you have to soak these in water? Can you use them without soaking them first?

I didn't soak them in water. I unrolled them and set them outdoors in the sun for a day. They had a terrible chemical odor and putting them outdoors fixed that in a day. I do phone support from a home office and tacking these to the walls around my desk stopped customer complaints of "tinny" and "echo-y" voice.
