These machines do NOT create compost by any stretch of the imagination. They do nothing but chop up and dehydrate the food. The result in their ad is made to look like compost; the real result (I had lettuce scraps, eggshells and some cucumber peals) looks exactly like what you started with--just ground up find, dried and all mixed together. This is NOT compost and will do nothing for your garden until it actually breaks down naturally. That may happen faster due to the small particle size, but you will not get compost from the machine and will be disappointed if that's what you expect.

The media could not be loaded. This kitchen waste composter is very convenient to use. The leftover food can be directly poured into it, operated with one button, and then it just works! It is so quiet I don't even notice it's on and there is no smell of food waste. I love it and will recommend it to my friends.I am an environmentalist. I always try to avoid wasting energy and this is a great way to lower carbon footprints. For this amount of money, you'd expect the item to run for at least the period of warranty... No, it's dead. I was sick with that recurring cold/cough that was going around in Nov and didn't have the strength to deal with my compost. When I finally got better, I cleaned out the composter but the blade was stuck. Pretty irritated. Send message to Nagaulep's service as it still has a lot of warranty left. Hope I hear back from them.

I did not purchase this machine from Amazon (or this seller). I got mine on IndieGoGo, as one of the first ever backers of the project. The unit worked flawlessly for the first year or so. After that, it began making ever more grinding noise - it appears the bearing under the bucket has gotten damaged from moisture. The unit became loud enough that it was no longer practical to use it in the kitchen, I had to move it into a closet. After a long time, and posting this review on Amazon, NagualEP customer support finally reached out to me and sent me both the second IndieGoGo unit I never received and a replacement for the noisy one. They sent the next generation units, slightly redesigned.I have had the new devices for less than a week now, and the one I tested works perfectly. I have found these composters to be the strongest and most user friendly yet of all the units I tried. Even when processing pepper plant stems and similar roughage, these just keep going until the stuff is processed (while the Vitamix FoodCycler, for instance, stops and complains about the load). I've been using the device output to replenish outdoor soil before the planting season. The most wonderful part about using one of these is that I no longer have food waste in my trash and therefore only have to take out the trash bag about once every two weeks. Furthermore, if you live someplace where compost is not picked up by sanitation, this composter will allow you to keep the dry compost in a container (I use a vittle vault) until you're ready to drop it off at a compost dropoff event. Depending on your lifestyle, a few cubic feet of dry compost could represent several months of waste.If NagualEP customer service continues to be responsive going forward, I recommend NagualEP composters over any other ones.
