Charge first.
Works well. I use them in an Amusement Park , to keep tabs where everyone is in the park.

Long range, clear sound, with multiple channels
These work great for what I use them for. I have a large home and a huge piece of land. The girl that helps me run my business is all over the place. I hate yelling for her, so I got these. Now I don't have to yell to get her to do something I need her to do, anymore. They have a range of about 700 feet. Which is all I need.

Exceeds casual use expectations
The media could not be loaded. These are great walkie talkie two way handheld radios. There are multiple channels to use. They also come with a belt clip, wrist strap, and earpiece. The earpiece is however generic and uncomfortable. The radios also have a built in flash light that can be steady or blinking. They come with lithium ion rechargeable batteries that use a cradle. Two cradles are included. 2 charging cables are included, but the power adapter is not included. You can use a phone charging block. As far as the radios, we have tested extensively. While they are terrific for kids, light use, and casual entertainment, I’m not sure I would rely on them in a professional setting, such as a school, or hotel. I would recommend for camping, farm, and traveling in pairs. In our testing, we averaged 3-4 hours of continuous use. The instructions say to fully discharge before charging. This can be a pain. Although lithium ion batteries should not create a memory if charging in between, the manual cautioned against charging whenever. The product is very sturdy. Charging does take some time, usually a couple hours. We tested around the neighborhood and were successful just under a mile (not in direct sight) before experiencing static. Deserves solid 4 stars. For 5 stars, I recommend including power adapter (since most people have usbc, and these use usba), and using battery technology that can be charged up at any percentage.

3 watt, easy to program and use.
These little radios are great! They only have 16 channels, so don't expect to get all 22 GMRS channels. However, it is enough to have all and remove the FRS low power channels, and I added one repeater to it, so I can access it. I did try, and I can hit the repeater. A little static, but able to be heard. The flashlight is as you would expect - Crap, one tiny LED, but if your primary flashlight dies, and then your secondary one, you'll be glad you have it. I will attest to this, my power went out. All flashlights died, and this is what was left. It was barely enough to light up our eating at the table. We had light though, so still useful. Works in Chirp, I had to use the Baofeng BF-V8A setting.

Good so far
These seem to function well even when not in line of sight. Like within a building. Your not gonna get 3 miles range unless it's like pointed directly down a mountain at the other radio with nothing in the way.Odds are youre not going to need that kind of distance anyway. Having only 2 controls keeps things simple, especially for kids. I have another baufeng and it works well so I stayed with the brand. They have already been dropped a few times and held up fine so they seem well made. Happy with my purchase and would reccomend this product.

Not for me!
My husband bought these for me during surgery recovery. He thought it would be easier than using our phones when he was outside, in the garage or on the other side of the house. He loved it, I hated it. We had a lot of interference, constantly changing channels and sometimes the chargers didn't charge. I am sure in some situations, this little device could be a life saver, for someone confined to a small area of the house and not too mobile, my cell phone worked better.

Charger is a little fickle
So far so good. Works as it should.I do wish it had a display but you can manage without it.The chargers are a little fickle. If you go to charge the unit and the light doesn't turn red, turn the radio power on and back on again.I use it manly for my elderly father who is in the other room. Love that it has a led light!
