Great quality product, great price and brilliant design.
Really liked the idea of this tripod as soon as I watched the official Manfrotto video on YouTube. It's such a dynamic good quality product that will really compliment your photography well. My favourite feature is the verticle changable 90 degree centre column that really shakes things up (although this will only be good for you if you have a ball head tripod, which I've also bought with it)... I'm yet to try this out properly on location with filming projects and photography sessions but will update this once that's done. But for now...On first impressions out the box its sturdy, has a premium feel, it's well built and the rubber grips on 2 of the 3 legs really compliment both the design and functionality... one thing I noticed from using tripods at University (despite them costing £300) is that they get extremely cold and is freezing on your hands whilst filming. With the rubber on the legs of these it'll be much nicer for winter photography or colder conditions. Aside from that little feature, the quick release clips make it easy to extend the legs and with the silver clips at the top to push up and release the legs out even further. The best bit about that function is you can push the legs out as far as they can go, lift out the centre column and get the tripod down to floor level which is amazing.I'm still to use the easy link feature to attach other accessories, but haven't yet got a friction arm anyway. Once I do though it'll be so easy to put a light or mic on it for video... If you're looking for a decent tripod to start off with and have the budget for something like this then I recommend you buy. If you need a slightly larger one then go for the 4 section, but when you look at the specs on Manfrotto website they're not that much different but just literally research before you buy and make a decision based on your need rather than just because it does everything. Just like everything you buy there may not be features you need or even use so you'll just be wasting money on something over complicated just because you want it...

Excellent buy.
Not yet taken it for its first outing but I know it's going to be a winner.I have had a Giottos for many years and it has served me well, but it was time for a new one (old one really as this model has been around for a while).I love the way I can quickly change from vertical to horizontal.Having the easy link feature will be great as I do macro a lot and having the abilityto attach a light or flash to the actual tripod will be very useful for me.I have just ordered the flex cable.Another thing I like is the spirit level which can be moved to where you can see it, nice little touch. It is quite heavy which I don't mind, my Giottos was just as heavy, however it does have anattachment where you can attach a strap, the same attachment can be used to add someweight for stabilising the tripod in windy conditions. All in all I am looking forward to taking it on a trip around my local nature reserve. It's build quality is excellent.

Best tripod
I love this tripod for many reasons. It is sturdy, adaptable for different shooting needs and very sturdy even when in tight spaces. I am shooting using a timer and there is no camera shake when bracketing for 3 frames. I purchase with an extra head so I could get the most out of this tripod and I went with Manfrotto for the quality. I did debate between the aluminium body or carbon fibre, price wise I chose the aluminium frame and it not as heavy as I was lead to believe. I use it almost every day and carry it on occasions. Only think that I would have liked would have been a carry bag included but that’s easily solved by an extra purchase. Great Item so thanks Manfrotto for making such a wonderful easy to use tripod for us female photogs

Great kit! Shame about the undisclosed damage and missing plate...
A very well made bit of kit, can’t wait to use it! However I bought it second hand through amazon and it has a few fairly major bits of damage which weren’t mentioned. A red plastic ring on the head seems to be dislocated out of place (this doesn’t appear to have a big impact on pitch performance - perhaps I can repair this) and there are two small cracks on the rim of the pitch friction dial. Luckily this can probably be fixed easily with a dab of glue. Lastly, the mounting plate is missing from the head - was this nabbed before returning it? Very cheeky! That’s £20 to replace! Anyway, overall I am pleased because it was almost half price from new, and it does seem to be in good working order despite the damaged parts listed. Will think twice about second hand offers in future however.. Great quality kit, nice and perfect height for astronomy - I’m 5’11” and can get under a set of binoculars without any stoop. Very happy if a bit disgruntled by the unmentioned damage!

Manfrotto 190X Aluminium 4 Section Tripod with XPRO 3 Way Head
This is an excellent tripod, I doubt I'll ever need to upgrade. It feels like a bargain, and the camera gear is very secure on this platform. Highly recommended.I'm very pleased with the sturdiness, ease of use, quality of materials, and the speed at which adjustments can be made. I haven't noticed any movement once all the knobs are tightened, even with my heaviest gear on the platform. The speed at which you can remove the camera is impressive. You can extend all the legs in seconds.

As heavy, solid and sturdy as a Challenger II tank.
Review for 3 segment aluminium with 3 way head. It is quite big and quite heavy. You will need to be extremely committed if you plan to use it for a backpacking expedition. On the other hand it is extremely well made and very sturdy. I prefer the 3 way head because it allows me to control each axis in splendid isolation, but that is a subjective thing. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Great sturdy tripod
Compared to the Manfrotto290X this is significantly sturdier. Compared to the Manfrotto190X, the central column is much better. Very happy with this tripod. There was a slight hickup - the first time I ordered it I received a tripod with scratched central column and red collar. Amazon was great as usual and sent me a replacement immediately.
