Worth the investment for peace of mind.
The media could not be loaded. Easy installation, really help in fast charging my 1400 Yeti. When connecting to one 100 goal zero foldable panel I can get in a sunny day an average of 75 or more watts. When connected to two 100 goal zero foldable panels my average is 150 watts.Being a portable setting I can take it with me everywhere and also use it in the house as a backup system in case of power lost to connect my refrigerator.I consider the entire system a good investment and the company have a good reputation overall.

Works fantastic and fits perfectly
This thing works great. I haven’t had a chance to see how it works in cloudy conditions yet, but I have noticed it working under low light conditions late in the evening when the sun is barely touching the panel due to some branches in the way. Normally my yeti battery pack wouldn’t charge at all in those conditions but it does now! And it definitely sends more watts to my battery with mid day sun, not sure if it’s exactly 15% more like it claims, but it’s pretty damn close. One thing I was worried about was how it would fit because of some of the other reviews I read. Not sure what their problem was but mine fit perfectly in the top of my yeti goal zero 1000w, and it was ridiculously simple to install. I’m guessing those people probably didn’t tuck the wires underneath it properly, causing it to stick up so the lid won’t shut. But my lid shuts completely and it works fantastic, very happy with this thing so far.

works, but should have been included with product.
this works, but I'm still gonna say this should have came included with the yeti 1000 and 1400 models... having to buy it separate is basically injury to insult... Works best on cloudy days of course. You will only see minimal gains on sunny days or from dc/ac input.... maybe 10-15 more watts off ac/dc power than without it. but you will be able to charge off solar at lower watts that the included pwm controller would not do any charging from. ie, this mppt control can charge my yeti at about 8 watts with bad sunlight off my 60 watt fordable solar panel where as the pwm controller gets 0. The biggest part of having this is that you can double your potentially input to the yeti, as you can max out the pwm controller and this mppt controller for a total of about 600 watts of input.

Less Efficient or Doesn't Word
I have the Yeti 1000 and I use it with the Goal Zero Boulder Briefcase 200. On a nearly sunny day, after installing the MPPT, I plugged the panels into the Anderson Port on the MPPT. The blue LED on the MPPT lit solid, not blinking, and the unit did not charge. I double and triple checked the connectors, and plugging the AC charger into the MPPT it did charge. After unplugging and replugging the panels repeatedly, I did manage to get 5-10 watts input to show on the display and the LED blinked to show it was charging but it shut off quickly. I also tried a trick I found online to hole the three display buttons simultaneously to "Ctrl+Alt+Delete" the unit, and when it came back up, it behaved no differently than before (well, it again had 5-10 watts for a few seconds before stopping). I tried this with and without outputs turned on to drain the batteries or consume the pass-through power. With the outputs on, sitting in full sunlight, the battery slowly drained indicating that indeed the unit was not charging. I then moved the panel input to the Yeti's built-in Anderson port and immediately the unit started charging around 112 Watts and stayed so for several minutes before I switched back to the MPPT to once again see it do nothing for 10+ minutes.I contacted Goal Zero customer support via email 2-3 weeks ago and still have no response other than the automated, "We got your message and will get back to you."I would not recommend this product or this company. While I have had okay experiences with some of their other products, the lack of customer support and the non-function of this module reinforce some prior experiences I have had and heard about with their products (including my prior experience with some of their smaller backpacking solar equipment).

Completes the Yeti 1400
This module completes the Yeti 1400 and provides for faster, better charging. It gives you more ports and also faster charging ports. There are several youtube videos showing it's actual performance stats. It is very easy to install. Just remove a blank panel, connect the cables, and screw the module in. It works immediately.

Works as advertised, poor assembly.
The MPPT fits nicely in the top of my 1400 lithium unit. Charge times from solar and the wall are definitely improved. My unit had something rattling around on the inside when I received it. I opened it up and found one of the four screws that hold the circuit board was loose. Another one was stripped and loose. I ended up not replacing two of the screws and used silicone over the top of the remaining screws to make sure they didn’t come loose. Luckily nothing got shorted by the loose screw!

Needed for goal zero yeti 1450 charging
the goal zero was out of this product when my yeti 1450 arrived, so i waited to charge it until this item came back in stock. sure wish i had the 25% off sale price though. it sure was pricey. i am very happy with the goal zero products, which supply portable power and solar panel charging for my van trips. Neat, and I use LED batteries to lessen the weight of batteries. I am generally in a climate that seldom freezes, and I do not expect to drive into snow country in cold weather. i am much too southern and warm blooded to like the cold that much
