Perfect portable Crab Trap!
PRO: Used it once. My Mom complained about the weight of our old crab traps, so I shopped around for something that does the same job, but in the weight range she would like. This trap is very light to me, easy to transport and easy to pull up. My Mom loves it, she even had someone on the pier ask to buy it from her.I was worried it would rust and/or bend when pulled up. I forgot to rinse it the day we used it and instead rinsed it about 3 days after and 0 rust or damage from forgetting. The net held up very well when pulled up. I added a metal bait cage and tied it to the bottom of this trap, worked perfectly.We had the most success with this trap that day, since my other two had bigger gaps and allowing conch to fall through to the water. I hope to actually catch crab next time and see how that works out.I recommend checking the knots on the main rope and rope connected to the ring with all crab traps of this style before throwing into the water.CONS: the rope to pull the trap up is to thin, recommend tying knots into it to make it easier to pull.I'm considering buying another unit in the future, due to it's portability (weight is very comfortable). I can see tying this to my backpack and taking it to the jetties (not an option with my full sized crab traps 2.2lb vs 7 to 10lb).

Spend the extra $20.00 can get yourself a more better quality / heavy duty trap.This hoop that stays as a backup or this is the hoop you loan to your friends, because I really don't care about it.

Worked great and caught 3 dozen Crabs with only 4 traps using Chicken Legs at South Texas Coastal Pier

Broke after first use
The top metal ring broke in half after the first cast- very poor quality metal. Would not recommend

Worth the money I paid for
Works really well my only problem is the connector finding the ring together came off and I've had to have a friend welded other than that product designed
